My first born is due in 5 weeks, I have my heart set on the name Caleb Atholl....What is you thoughts on it? Atholl is my dads name, and I love the name Caleb, its very similar to my Fiances name of Callum. And yes, we are Scottish lol cc

Great, although I'd be bolder and have Atholl as the first name Smile I know a baby Atholl and think it's such a great name.
Less keen on Caleb though but it doesn't matter as he'll be know as Atholl anyway.

Lovely name, had Caleb on our shortlist.

Really love Atholl too, unusual but not weird!!

Love love love Atholl - I'd put it first! They're both good names.

DD was going to be a Caleb I was a huge fan of American Gothic I think it's a good strong name

Is atholl pronounced Ath-oll or At-hole?

If the latter it does sound a bit like someone with a lisp is saying arsehole....

Jadem1989 · 05/12/2016 13:06

It's pronounced Ath-oll Wink

I like Caleb it is a good name.
Atholl is good as well but Queen has a point...

SeashellHoarder · 05/12/2016 15:57

Atholl as a first name would be great. Both names are good though.

AmandaK11 · 05/12/2016 16:00

I find the Atholl a bit unusual, but otherwise it is ok.

everythingis · 05/12/2016 17:01

Sounds like an island

voluptuagoodshag · 05/12/2016 17:08

Like Atholl but not Caleb (sorry) but if you were using both I'd put Atholl first. There are lots of nice boys names signposted off the A9 :)

Struan, Blair, Atholl, Clunie. Also Rannoch for a girl!

Barefootcontessa84 · 05/12/2016 17:58

I like both, but would caution putting Atholl first - it does (if said correctly) sound similar to asshole, so if you / your son ventures out of Scotland, it's a hard one for him.

I never knew atholl was a people name. We lived on atholl road.
