I LOVE this name and DH thinks it's really cool but I worry that it's actually going to just be a stupid choice. I can't imagine that it would be particularly we'll received by our families Grin
Neither of us has any scandi heritage either if that's relevant, it's just a name that we like. Are we mad??
We have a Leo already

Quite mad.

Axel rose could pull it off. But don't think many other people could.

IAmALionTamer · 03/12/2016 21:16

That was obviously meant to say well received

I think of axel rose.

SpeckledyBanana · 03/12/2016 21:17

Axel Rose.

Axel F.

I rather like it though Grin use it!

RedStripeIassie · 03/12/2016 21:17

Axel and Leo sound good together. I like it.

braceybracegirl · 03/12/2016 21:18

No. Just No.

ILoveAGoodBrusselSprout · 03/12/2016 21:18

I love, love, love it!

It was such a close second for our DS. We backed down last minute and called him a lovely, similar but traditional name instead. He is such a character, though, I feel he could have pulled it off and I do regret it a little. Go for it!

ThisPasadenaHomemaker · 03/12/2016 21:20

I think it's godawful. Harsh sounding and gimmicky and not in any way classy.

Leo is a nice, inoffensive name. Leo and Axel sounds bizarre as a pair of brothers.

DramaAlpaca · 03/12/2016 21:20

My friend has one, but she's Scandinavian.

I think it goes quite well with Leo, actually.

DearMrDilkington · 03/12/2016 21:21

I love Axel. It goes lovely with Leo too.

crayfish · 03/12/2016 21:22

Oh no, it's awful I'm afraid.

TheTartOfAsgard · 03/12/2016 21:26

It's quite popular in Australia but it is an awesome name.

MrsFrankieHeck · 03/12/2016 21:27

Do it.

Sophronia · 03/12/2016 21:28

My hairdresser is called Axel Grin he's English and it suits him fine.

VanillaSugarAndChristmasSpice · 03/12/2016 21:29

Axel Rose. And of.

LumelaMme · 03/12/2016 21:29

It sounds like a car part: Axle.
Sorry.

IAmALionTamer · 03/12/2016 21:30

Bit of a marmite name then!
I feel a bit like you brussel I worry I'll chicken out and regret it later. Got ages to go yet so have a while to decide, I just can't face taking it off the list any time soon

I like it, I had a great friend at uni called Axel. He was scandi though.
go for it if you like it, it's very cool.

IAmALionTamer · 03/12/2016 21:32

Well of course frankieheck would love that name! The Middle actually brought the name to my attention. That and The Gruffalo Wink

JaimeLannister · 03/12/2016 21:35

Love it.

Would you consider Brick for any future DS's? 😀

littleostrich · 03/12/2016 21:36

I met a child that everyone called Axel, but the name on his birth certificate was Alex.

MrsFogi · 03/12/2016 21:37

This name is frequently used in France and Axele for a girl (which is seriously cool - like my other similar favourite for a girl, Claude).

milkysmum · 03/12/2016 21:46

I know a mum at school who's little boy is Axel, I quite like it really although not sure I would have confidence to use myself

KenDoddsDadsDog · 03/12/2016 21:48

I met an Axel this week. He looked like Viking !
