I don't watch much TV, so didn't watch this program. Really gutted.

He's 8 months, but no one has really ever said anything. I've had a few "oh, like..." but I've just smiled, thinking "who?" and just got on with my day.

Would you change it?

I went to school with a girl called Lucinda Bedde which provoked lots of giggles.

WellErrr · 03/12/2016 20:59

'You remind me of a young Lenny Henry'

WellErrr · 03/12/2016 21:00

^^actual quote from LW to a young black contestant on X factor.

TroysMammy · 03/12/2016 21:01

There was a girl a few years younger than me in comprehensive school called Hayley Mills.

Patriciathestripper1 · 03/12/2016 21:01

Oh I hope no one calls him lulu at school.
Didn't you realise when you were naming him?

badhotfanny · 03/12/2016 21:01

Bike. I know an Alice Cooper - is it you? Grin

I went to school, in the 80s, with a girl called Samantha Fox. As far as I know, she didn't really get much flak. It could have been worse.

Charlotteee1402 · 03/12/2016 21:02

Lulu? He could get that anyway, even if his surname wasn't Walsh

I had never heard of Louis Walsh until this thread. I had to Google to find out who he was!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 03/12/2016 21:04

Axel Rose? BikeRunSki?

SueGeneris · 03/12/2016 21:06

I have heard of Louis Walsh, I think, but not sure who he is. Is he a talent show judge or something? Anyhow, I wouldn't have thought of it if I heard your DS's name.

Pluto30 · 03/12/2016 21:06

I have no idea who Louis Walsh is, so...

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/12/2016 21:07

My DC were at school with Harry Potter
Old enough to have been named with the full knowledge of the name and the books and films

lljkk · 03/12/2016 21:07

I've heard the name but don't know who he is (can't be arsed to search).
Minor celebrity at best? Must not be that offensive or I'd know who... it's not like you called your kid Katie Hopkins or Donald Trump...

Bagina · 03/12/2016 21:07

'You remind me of a young Lenny Henry'

I thought that was a Partridge quote at first!! Grin

BikeRunSki · 03/12/2016 21:07

I'm Alice Cooper, do I know you badhotfanny? PM me !

gaggiagirl · 03/12/2016 21:10

bike meatloaf? Grin
Ooh I'm dying to know now.

gaggiagirl · 03/12/2016 21:10

Oops cross post

midcenturymodern · 03/12/2016 21:12

My Mum's friend has an Anthony Blair. He would have been a toddler when Blair was elected. I work in a hospital and I probably meet someone every week with a celeb name. Some are worse than others, and it can happen to anyone. I met someone recently who had the same name as a well known murderer, but he would have been mid 50s before his name was suddenly known. I've also met about 20 Mary Bells. No idea why that is such a popular name although Mary and Bell are individually common I suppose.

Tartyflette · 03/12/2016 21:17

I went to school with a Frances Drake.
Her parents clearly HAD to have known. There was a fair bit of stick, poor thing.

chugnut · 03/12/2016 21:24

A child at the doctors recently was called Ben Affleck

Dontrocktheboat · 03/12/2016 21:25

I don't watch much tv and had also never heard of Louis Walsh - though on googling he looks familiar. I wouldn't worry too much he will probably be forgotten by time your son is old enough to care.

Dahlietta · 03/12/2016 21:25

Nah, Louis Walsh will be in an old folks' home by the time your Louis Walsh is 10. By the time his friends will be old enough to know who Louis Walsh is, nobody will remember who Louis Walsh was.

DollyPlastic · 03/12/2016 21:26

Really? He's very well known.

honeyrider · 03/12/2016 21:26

Not only has one of my sons got the same name as a boy band member and current national radio dj he's also got his date of birth. My son was born a year before the boy band was formed.

SquinkiesRule · 03/12/2016 21:26

His name is nice.
Ds's friend is a Rescue Hero character (don't know if they have them in the UK) Jake Justice. The child thinks its great that he has action figures with his name.
At work we have a Kathleen Turner.
Dd was going to be a Julia, until I realized she'd be Pretty Woman.
