I'm expecting DD2 in January. The only name we can agree on is Cleo, but my DD1 is Elise.

Thoughts?

I love it!!! But it reminds me of the car (but I still love it)

MissusMop23 · 01/12/2016 17:14

I love it too. But I'm worried people will think both my daughters are named after carsGrin

Lovely!

KlingybunFistelvase · 01/12/2016 17:34

Is Elise a car?! I didn't know that!

SausageSoda · 01/12/2016 17:35

I wouldn't associate Elise with a car.

MissusMop23 · 01/12/2016 17:35

Lotus Elise? Maybe overthinling!

Yeah I wouldn't make that connection... I'm rubbish with cars though - I can't even drive! GrinBlush

MissusMop23 · 01/12/2016 17:46

Thanks all. I'm hoping it is not too obvious a connection as I really like it.

Love cleo. Didn't make the car connection, I know an Elise and I still never thought of it either.
Go with it!

Wigeon · 01/12/2016 20:44

IME, with a DD called Cleo you get

Occasionally people mentioning the car
People occasionally having cats called Cleo
People occasionally asking if her long name is Cleopatra (not it's not)
People constantly misremembering her name and calling her Chloe (e.g. every teaching assistant)

But in general, great name! Grin

I haven't heard of a car called Elise and wouldn't make that connection though!

msrisotto · 01/12/2016 20:45

Is cleo a full name? I didn't make the car connection either and my first car was a clio.

Wigeon · 01/12/2016 20:49

Cleo is definitely a full name. E.g. Cleo Laine (jazz singer)

tarheelbaby · 01/12/2016 20:52

the car you're remembering is a Lotus elite. If you are choosing Cleo is that short for Cleopatra (or another name) or are you referencing the muse of history, Clio?

rainbow99 · 01/12/2016 21:44

I thought they're both car names straight away I'm afraid. It's actually a Lotus Elise. I know an Elise and it always makes me think of the car. Both lovely names though and I'm sure the majority of people won't make the connection.

BastardGoDarkly · 01/12/2016 21:47

I've heard of a lotus Elise, and a Clio, but never thought of them with either name.

I love love love Cleo op! (And Elise, it was on my shortlist for DD :) )

KeepCalm · 01/12/2016 21:48

I loved it but DH said no Sad

Joinourclub · 01/12/2016 22:32

Great name

FabFiveFreddie · 01/12/2016 22:35

I LOVE Cleo!!

blowmybarnacles · 03/12/2016 21:44

Clea maybe, to avoid car association but both lovely!

Largemelons · 03/12/2016 23:29

I've loved it for ages, it's classy and elegant but not too popular.
