Me and DH really like both so just wondering general thoughts?

Alexa!

TheNewWife · 24/11/2016 14:03

Chinlo Smile
Alexa was a very lovely character in a book I read once and thoroughly enjoyed. I don't know of any in my personal life and the only celeb that comes to mind is the model Alexa Chung.

Not sure where I got Connie/Constance but our surname begins with C and I like the idea of keeping them the same.

DH liked Abigail but whilst I don't hate it, I don't feel it either.

Anyway thanks for your reply

You're welcome :)

I think Constance is pretty cool, but I'm not personally a fan of Connie. I do quite like some alliterative names though, so that is a plus.

But Alexa is just such a cool name. I think it's feminine and beautiful but also strong and badass.

Sophronia · 24/11/2016 14:26

I prefer Constance nn Connie

KlingybunFistelvase · 24/11/2016 14:26

Alexa

Alexa

Sorry for double post - my phone is being a total jackass today.

FurryDogMother · 24/11/2016 14:27

Not Alexa, as Amazon have chosen that name for their Echo service, and if it gets really popular, your daughter would be forever looking round as someone mentioned her name :)

Artandco · 24/11/2016 14:32

Constantina - Connie

Chinlo · 24/11/2016 14:32

I always chuckle when people come up with these bizarre/tenuous reasons not to use a name. Grin

TheNewWife · 24/11/2016 14:42

FurryDogMother oh bloody well tell me about it!! And my mother has gone and bought one and she's shouting all over FB about how fab it is! I'm not due for ages (April) and me and my DH are the only ones who know the sex.
Just hoping the Amazon Echo dies a death!
Other names I liked in the past were Darcie and Lexie... within 5 mins of being pregnant, two close family members for dogs and called them just that (they didn't know my name preferences, just sheer coincidence) hahahah!

Constance nn Connie is adorable

Pluto30 · 25/11/2016 03:25

I prefer Alexa.

I don't like "out there" virtue names like Constance. Connie could be cute, but I still prefer Alexa.

The Connie I know is short for Cornelia, which is... not good.

BradleyPooper · 25/11/2016 03:42

Love Connie but conne is french for stupid and it's too close for me. Probably wouldn't bother anyone who didn't speak French though....

Bigfam · 25/11/2016 03:49

Constance nn connie or just connie.
Love it. 1 of the two names we had picked for baby girl due in 2 weeks 😊

lizzieoak · 25/11/2016 04:52

Alexa sounds very 1980's Dynasty to me - wasn't that one of the characters? I like virtue names, though prefer Con to Connie.

TheNewWife · 25/11/2016 06:28

I'm still on the fence between the two of them. DH works for a French company so the Connie (stupid) thing might put him off.
This is basically my choices for girls, I'm not really keen on anything else and struggled majorly for boys so just as well it's a Little Miss!

I love Alexa and would use that name if I was having a girl.

Connie is a sweet name too but I don't think I like it enough to use it.

TurquoiseDress · 25/11/2016 17:11

Alexis was the nasty one in Dynasty!

lizzieoak · 25/11/2016 17:23

Ah, thanks for Dynasty info. I haven't watched it, unless watching the Moones on Moone Bot watching it counts.

lizzieoak · 25/11/2016 17:23

Moone Boy obviously, not bot, bloody phone.

TheNewWife · 25/11/2016 17:31

Aaahhhhh it was Alexis not Alexa in Dynasty! So now all I need to content with is the bloody Amazon/Echo thing!
