What do you think of this name, pronounced Zah-ruh. Any thoughts on nicknames or middle names? I have been thinking about it all day. It just randomly came to me out of nowhere. I had never even heard of it. Wasn't sure it was a name until I looked it up. Turns out there's a clothing line called Zara, but I'm ok with that.

I like it, as uncommonly names go.
Was going to say that Princess Anne's daughter is famously called Zara.
It's not confusing in how you would pronounce or spell it. She's likely to be the only one in any class / group / workplace, so good all round.

The "clothing line" is actually a MASSIVE, global chain of high street shops ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zara_(retailer)#Stores ), so if you're in one of these 88 countries I'm kind of surprised you've never heard of it!

And although it's not a SUPER common name, it's not particularly unusual here. It's been in the top 100 here since 2002 (was number 72 with 772 babies last year).

Anyway, I think it's quite a nice name.

Other than the clothes shop and the royal Zara, I only know one and she is actually Zahra.

I like both spellings, but would choose the second if I was going to use it, just to jot be the same as the shop.

Struggling to think of MN I like with it, but for NN, Za-za is cute.

Zara/Zahra means flower or northern star in Arabic, it's lovely.

Zara is quite a popular name in my age group (early thirties), or at least it is where I'm from. Maybe it's to do with the famous royal named Zara of a similar age.

Yeah I'm American. I think that's awesome that Zara is a royal name. :) It makes it special. I could even jokingly call her "princess Zara!" I never heard of the clothing line until I looked it up the other day. I don't think it's that popular in America. Maybe a tad. Thank you for the lovely man ideas, awwlookat. Zara Belle and Zara lily are absolute beauty!

I love "Zee" as a nm, Queen! I thought about "zah" aswell. It's different. Kinda has a neat ring too it.
