How do you pronounce Charlotte?

To rhyme with plot or with the same sound as the ending of toilet?

Clear as mud I'm sure!

Sharlut sounds more natural. Shar-lot is too deliberate, almost contrived.

So we do have owners of the name that pronounce it both ways.

Myself and my friends are all in the Home Counties and I'm the only lot one. I have known her for about 6 years and only realised I said it differently to everyone else last month!

To answer upthread the Duke of Cambridge appears to pronounce it Sharlut.
