Arf. No.

Manumission · 18/11/2016 16:57

Oh squoosh you've muddied the waters now. Any chance you're having twins OP?

Oh yes Madame, so chic. Norbert would easily take a woman through all stages in life, from Bert in the playground, Norbert in the boardroom, and Norbie baby in the bedroom. An excellent suggestion.

Our American friends have just named their baby boy Alan and we had to do our best not to do a Shock face. But for a girl? Please, please don't.

OreoHeaven · 18/11/2016 17:00

Is this a joke?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 18/11/2016 17:03

Nooooo not Alan!

Colin's nice though 👍

Alan for a girl...

Hmm

Do you mean Alana?

EssentialHummus · 18/11/2016 17:54

What about Brian? Classic, strong name, he won't have any problem becoming a high court judge.

Kenworthington · 18/11/2016 17:56

Don't be ridiculous OP

DogsandCats123 · 18/11/2016 17:56

What about Alanya?

Chinlo · 18/11/2016 17:57

I love all the jokes, and then when somebody makes a thread about James for a girl, everyone starts claiming it's a lovely name for a girl and that it's sexist to assign a gender to name.

squoosh · 18/11/2016 17:59

Nope. I definitely rolled my eyes at the 'James for a girl' thread.

WellErrr · 18/11/2016 17:59

Keith?

squoosh · 18/11/2016 17:59

I wouldn't call a girl James (or Alan). And I wouldn't call a boy Ellie.

Chinlo · 18/11/2016 18:00

Don't worry squoosh, I didn't mean LITERALLY everyone.

swoonmacaroon · 18/11/2016 18:01

I like it but prefer Colin.

squoosh · 18/11/2016 18:03

That's a relief Chinlo Wink

BusterGonad · 18/11/2016 19:14

I've got it, Ron, after Ron Dicko from Brookside!

MadisonAvenue · 18/11/2016 19:26

Buster if we're thinking of Brookie themed names, I think the perfect girl's name is Barry, after Barry Grant.
Or there's always Trevor (American friend has a son called Trevor Hmm)

Joinourclub · 18/11/2016 19:29

Alan is great for a girl. Similar names you may like: Colin, Adam, Paul, Norman
