Thoughts on this name?

I'm assuming it is for a baby? A bit "made up", perhaps? Would it be pronounced T-Asia (as in the continent) or TAY-see-ah? I come across a lot of unique names in my profession and what they have in common is that the children whose names they are, are all experts at spelling their names and correcting mispronunciation. Which I imagine must wear thin at some point.
But if you like it, and if it carries a significance to you, then go for it.

SimonLeBonOnAndOn · 17/11/2016 18:35

Sounds like Tazer.
Don't like it sorry.

GrumpyOldBag · 17/11/2016 18:36

Short for Anastasia, maybe?

LunaLoveg00d · 17/11/2016 18:37

Taser or Tizer.

Very made-up. Tania is good though, and underused.

CharlieJames123 · 17/11/2016 18:39

I watched a program and there was an adorable girl named Taysia in it Tay-ze-ah. It made me really like it but obviously I suppose as a name it's not exactly liked then!

A little Welsh girl was named it on secret life of 4 year olds. Pretty name.

EssentialHummus · 17/11/2016 18:39

One of the little girls on Secret Life of Four Year Olds is called Taysia. I'd never heard of it and assumed it was Welsh (as the girl is). I'm not sure about it. Maybe Anastasia, as PP suggested?

EssentialHummus · 17/11/2016 18:40

X-posted with you both! Is it actually a Welsh name, anyone?

Pluto30 · 17/11/2016 19:19

I would've said "Taysha", as in Fantasia.

I don't like it.

panad317 · 17/11/2016 19:26

No it's not a Welsh name

yeOldeTrout · 17/11/2016 19:35

I like it... in fact, you've just inspired me to try to facebook friend a somewhat-lost cousin with same name (your spelling is prettier). My cousin was born about 1978. She's a rich person working on Wall Street (but that's not the reason to FB friend her, ha).

atticusclaw2 · 17/11/2016 19:38

Surely it's short for Anastasia?

yeOldeTrout · 17/11/2016 19:39

wow, rumour was true. Just found a story about my cousin in the Wall St. Journal no less.

What was that about "made up names mean you'll have no success in life"...

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 17/11/2016 19:39

I really like it, and the girl on the c4 is the sweetest little girl. If her Mum reads this she is adorable.

NoArtificialColours · 17/11/2016 19:46

I like it because that little welsh girl sells it nicely. She is so cute and sweet.

caffelatte100 · 17/11/2016 20:04

No, I don't like it.

cmxx · 17/11/2016 21:46

I think it sounds pretty! The spelling does look madeup though, so maybe Taisia would be better?

No come to think of it, Taysia is fine. Love it!

Smidge001 · 17/11/2016 21:52

pluto hmm.. I would never pronounce fantasia as fantaysha. That's odd..?! I would say fantayzia. Perhaps a sort of 'juh' (soft j) sound. Same with Anastasia.

PotOfYoghurt · 17/11/2016 22:42

The little girl was so cute. 'I live very far away. I live in Wales. But that doesn't mean I am a whale, does it?'

JessieDoops · 17/11/2016 23:15

Not too keen on the name, but yes... The little girl from SLO4YO was absolutely adorable.

PointlessUsername · 17/11/2016 23:17

I think it's a pretty name.

KlingybunFistelvase · 18/11/2016 11:35

I like it. Very pretty. A bit like Tansy.

KlingybunFistelvase · 18/11/2016 11:40

Fwiw I prefer Tansy Grin

PuppyMonkey · 18/11/2016 11:43

Another one who saw Secret Life, so now adore the name because of the association with officially the sweetest girl around.

HouseworkIsASin10 · 18/11/2016 12:09

Too much like tazer.
