Fiance seems to really love this name but I'm not so sure! Smile

Love it so much! One of my favourite boy names ever.

reallyanotherone · 16/11/2016 16:56

I like the sound but not the look. I'm irish though so would use the gaelic Ruairi which I love.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/11/2016 17:08

I like it.

SecretlyBroody · 16/11/2016 17:09

I think the look of it is what's troubling me now you say it!

It's all hypothetical at the moment as we're still waiting till we are ready but the names conversation has come up!

Think I will probably go with Rory if the time comes or Amelia/Emelia for a girl!

Lovely name - it is top of of our hypothetical boy's name list.

I love Ruairí & Ruairidh as well.

Heatherbell1978 · 16/11/2016 17:29

I like it but would spell it Ruairi as I'm in Scotland. I find it quite difficult to say though. With certain accents it can be a tricky name!

Joinourclub · 16/11/2016 18:53

Love it, and would have used it if I didn't have a problem with saying my 'r's! ' Warwee' isn't as nice!

SecretlyBroody · 16/11/2016 19:05

Think I might tell him I've changed my mind on the name and that we can use that name if we end up with a boy!

.... might speed him up on when we decide to go for it if he knows they will have a name he loves GrinHalo

Absolutely love it. And I've only ever met nice Rorys.

Sweets101 · 16/11/2016 20:11

Love it

ThisisMrsNicolaHicklin · 16/11/2016 20:18

Its a great name. I like the Gaelic spelling and pronunciation better though - Ruaraidh sounds like Rooory.

Surf25 · 16/11/2016 20:22

Love it. Dh not so much!! Hmm

SecretlyBroody · 16/11/2016 20:30

I'm Welsh and my fiance is English so I doubt we would get away with the garlic version - there wouldn't be enough connection there. Plus I wouldn't want the constant questions on how it's spelled/pronounced!

SecretlyBroody · 16/11/2016 20:31

Or gaelic version either. Stupid autocorrect Grin

ThisisMrsNicolaHicklin · 16/11/2016 20:48

My autocorrect had us speaking Garlic, too 😂

SorenaJ · 16/11/2016 21:10

Rory is such a lovely name

maroda16 · 16/11/2016 21:28

Awh I love it!! It's my little boy's name!!

overwhelmed34 · 16/11/2016 21:31

Funny, before I opened the thread I assumed it was a girl's name...(as in Lorelai/Rory from Gilmore Girls) which I think is lovely. But fab as a boy's name too!

FinnegansCake · 16/11/2016 21:32

I'd be wary of using it in case DS had trouble pronouncing his "r"s.

camelfinger · 16/11/2016 21:33

Nice name.
