I love this name but hear it is becoming very popular which puts me off. Does anyone in the UK know any Ezras or is it just a big thing in the States?

I know one, about 8 months.
I love the name, it will be top of my list when I finally get a bfp.

Stormwhale · 12/11/2016 20:17

I know one. About 9 months old. Gorgeous baby with huge blue eyes.

roundtable · 12/11/2016 20:19

I have one. He's 4. I'm pleased yet not pleased at how popular the name is becoming. It's a lovely name. Biased

KlingybunFistelvase · 12/11/2016 20:25

Love it! I know one who is about 1yo.

BabyBumpHopeful · 12/11/2016 21:21

Friend of mine just had a bub about 6 months ago and that's his name. Honestly wouldn't have considered it myself as I'd never met/heard of anyone with the name so I looked it up when she announced his name and it's turns out #1 for 2016 at the moment!

My 12 year old nephew is Ezra. Absolutely gorgeous name.

JenTeale · 12/11/2016 21:56

It is getting more popular and I know a few. But it's not going to be as ubiquitous as Jack, Ollie or Harry, for example. I'd be surprised to find more than one in a class.

rainbow99 · 12/11/2016 21:56

I only know of one and he's in his 50s

SquirrelPaws · 12/11/2016 22:15

I know two baby Ezras and another friend has it on her shortlist if the bump turns out to be a boy. It seems to be on the rise. I like it though.

groovygreenwichgirl · 13/11/2016 09:44

I know two Ezras under a year. Old Testament names are definitely popular at the moment.

MrsGsnow18 · 13/11/2016 09:47

I know two, both under one. They don't know each other but parents have connected friends, I do think one parent got name inspiration from the other!
It's a lovely name and sounds unusual but then unfortunately that leads to other people liking it and then it becomes more popular. Depends how much the popularity of a name annoys you.

OnceMoreIntoTheBleach · 13/11/2016 09:51

I like it. It's the name of one of the main characters in Pretty Little Liars - big series on Netflix - so a few more might spring up but I love it Smile

NC1nightstand · 13/11/2016 09:56

Absolutely gorgeous name. It was a very close call between Ezra and the name we chose for ds2. Bit gutted by this thread now for some stupid reason.Grin

BreatheDeep · 13/11/2016 09:59

I like it but wouldn't use it because of Pretty Little Liars, mainly because I don't like the character! If it wasn't for that I would consider it.

Chinlo · 13/11/2016 11:31

I love it. If it wasn't for pronunciation issues where we live, we probably would have chosen it for DS.

It's definitely growing in popularity, I expect it to be in the top 100 next year, but it's not like it's going to be top 10 or 20 any time soon.

NotYoda · 13/11/2016 14:21

I know one who is 10

There are, and have never been any Ezras in the school I work in (Primary). Bearing in mind it's a multicultural, City school, if it were common I'd expect a few.

As Chinlo says, it's very unlikely to be top 100, or even near i IMO

nice name

Oysterbabe · 13/11/2016 14:34

I know a 10 month old one. I fear it is the new Noah. Lovely though.

septembersunshine · 13/11/2016 20:49

I know of two baby ezras (both in two different places in the uk). Just seems to have taken off. Wouldn't let popularity put you off, it's still rare I think.

firawla · 14/11/2016 01:30

I know of a couple, under 2 years old

Coey2016 · 14/11/2016 06:07

I don't know any (south east)
