I'm really stuck between these 2 names for my little girl - any thoughts on how popular they are and whether they'll date easily as they get older? Need help!

Amelie is beautiful.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 08/11/2016 20:57

I love Jessica

DramaAlpaca · 08/11/2016 20:58

I prefer Jessica.

Amelie is very 'now' and is more likely to date.

AveEldon · 08/11/2016 21:02

I prefer Jessica

Jessica. Suits all ages, nn potential Jess, Jessie. Pretty yet strong.
Amelie is pretty, but one-dimensional if that makes sense!

GettingitwrongHauntingatnight · 08/11/2016 21:46

I prefer Jessica, beautiful dates well. Amilies ok but v similar to Emily

flapjackfairy · 08/11/2016 21:48

Loads of amelies, amelias and emilys at the moment! Jessica for me!

Careycontrary · 08/11/2016 21:48

Jessica. Timeless. Less now.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/11/2016 21:52

Amelie

Sophronia · 08/11/2016 22:03

Jessica

blondieminx · 08/11/2016 22:06

Jessica - it's more classic

(loads of Amelie's/Amelia's round here)

SoOverPeppa123 · 08/11/2016 22:16

Some friends/family have said it is too common and a bit boring and unimaginative which has put me off a bit. Though on its own I think it sounds pretty when you say it.

Jessica.

Amelie and its variations are well overused these days.

KoalaDownUnder · 09/11/2016 03:12

Jessica. Beautiful and classy.

PoldarksBreeches · 09/11/2016 04:52

Jessica. Amelie was dated 5 years ago.

O2BBesideTheSea · 09/11/2016 07:44

I know one Jessica, she's 9 and lives in a different country, so I wouldn't say it's too popular at all. I'd use it myself if it wasn't for her! (we're related)

Amelie is very similar to Emily, and Amelia so I think you'll spend lots of time correcting people and it's very popular (and I personally don't like Amelia/variants of)

Pluto30 · 09/11/2016 08:05

Going against the grain. I think Jessica is horrible and outdated. So 80s and 90s. I couldn't tell you how many Jessicas I went to school with.

Amelie is lovely.

Apachepony · 09/11/2016 08:47

I have to agree with Pluto, think Jessica is very dull (although jess is ok). Amelie is lovely but I do agree it would be the name more likely to date.
