What do we do when this is what our surnames would make? Sad DD is going to be here at the start of next year, we need to decide on her surname (we are not married, but would like to keep my surname anyway tbh).

Is it bad?

It's pretty clunky to be honest. Williamson as a middle name for baby?

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 04/11/2016 21:02

I'd go Watson as a middle name.

ViewBasket · 04/11/2016 22:26

Combine them into Wilson?

JollyHockeyGits · 04/11/2016 22:31

I don't think it's terrible, you'd just need to keep her first name pretty short and perhaps not bother with a middle name - something like Emma Williamson-Watson? But if it was me I'd discuss with DP all of us changing to the same name, Wilson's a nice idea!

I thought that Grin

Hey fellow Williamson lady! We're also unmarried (the shame Wink) and expecting DS in March.
Don't have an answer for you, but it could be a great wind up to tell your OH that you've decided all male children should have his surname, all female children yours.

I'm waiting to pull that one on him if our second is a girl....

Give the baby your surname, and use DP's as a middle name.
