A week to go...

I'm due in less than a week with DC2. We don't know the sex of the baby but have decided on Henry John for a boy.
For a girl we can't decide between:
Matilda
Madeleine

With either:
Ivy
Grace
Vera
As a middle name.

DD1 is Phoebe Rose.

What do you think?

Not very helpful but I love both Matilda and madeleine. Only thing that might make me choose Matilda is less likely that people will spell it differently?

I like Ivy or Vera as a middle name as I know so many girls with Grace.

Matilda Ivy.

Love Matilda. I like all your middle names but think Matilda Grace goes really well.

Pluto30 · 04/11/2016 08:28

Matilda Grace.

Madeleine and Matilda are "similar" names to me, because Madeleine is often Maddie and Matilda often Mattie. But Matilda won't have spelling problems, like Madeleine/Madeline/Madelyn etc. will.

Madeleine Grace

Matilda Grace would be my pick of your possible names but they are all nice!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/11/2016 09:23

Matilda Grace is lovely.

Madeleine Grace

Thank you! Still confused. We'll have to wait and see what it looks like.

Matilda Grace is beautiful & easy to spell

Spottyladybird · 04/11/2016 11:30

Spelling doesn't worry me too much- my eldest is called Phoebe!

Madeleine Ivy. I think it would be nice for sisters to each have a 'nature' mn.

Dontrocktheboat · 04/11/2016 12:41

Madeleine Ivy - but all are nice. I'm not so keen on grace as a middle name just as it is so commonly used.

Spottyladybird · 04/11/2016 12:43

I think the same about Grace. We used Rose last time and half the girls her age have Rose as a middle name. The other option is Lily as a middle name but I think it sounds a bit clunky.

Matilda Ivy. Grace is nice but as you say it's very commonly used as a middle name now. Lilly is even more popular around here, both as a middle name and a first name!

Matilda Ivy x

Puremince · 04/11/2016 13:24

Matilda Grace
Matilda Ivy
Madeleine Grace

But I like all the variations except Matilda Vera, which doesn't flow.

Grace Matilda
Madeleine Holly
