I've been on here with about a hundred middle name options so far for Orla. Now DH and I are talking about this. Do you think it's a mouthful?

Like them both but not together.

SpunkyMummy · 03/11/2016 19:05

I absolutely love the name Orla.

Elspeth is the name (nickname?) of a nasty step grand aunt of mine, which is probably why I don't like it that much.

But Orla Elspeth is nice. And it has a lot of shouting potential (at least in German).

Orla Elspeth Müller, komm sofort her und mach deine Hausaufgaben!! 😂

UnicornPee · 03/11/2016 19:57

Orla is too like oral and isn't a nice word to say

Orla Elizabeth flows better I think. I do like the name elspeth though. Why don't you use that as first name if dh is changing his mind on oral?! Good luck. When is dd3 due?

I think it's a mouthful and also Orla is Irish and Elspeth is Scottish. This bugs me for some reason and I can't think of them as going together. I like Orla though.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 03/11/2016 20:23

Most names are marmite.

JinkxMonsoon · 03/11/2016 20:27

My first thought was that it's a mouthful, I'm afraid.

Elspeth alone is quite the tongue twister.

SpunkyMummy · 04/11/2016 07:03

What about Orla Elizabeth? Or Orla Victoire
Orla Jane
Orla Clare/Claire
Orla Rose
Orla Fay
Orla Louise

I really like Orla Rose and Orla Clare :)

But if you like Orla Elspeth then you should go for it.

17caterpillars1mouse · 05/11/2016 07:43

Love it, especially Elspeth (so wish I could convince dh of it)

I do think Orlaith Elspeth looks better though but I guess with that comes pronunciation difficulties for some

Scotmum83 · 08/11/2016 17:49

Orla Elizabeth runs better than Elspeth. But I love both names.
