Hi,

So I have always loved the name Olivia but the placing in top 10 baby names put me off. I was just wondering how many baby Olivia's people know to work out just how popular it is really (which sounds stupid considering I have the answer from the ONS).

I know of 2, one early 20s and one 8

Coey2016 · 02/11/2016 14:14

I know quite a few baby/toddler Olivias (south east) - at least 5

Garthmarenghi · 02/11/2016 14:21

Only know one. Teenager. She is fab.

srslylikeomg · 02/11/2016 14:23

I only know a couple of Olivia's - 19 and 9. Lovely name!

My daughter is one of two Olivia's from our NCT class (of 8 babies, 4 girls). There are quite a few at nursery and (a sign of how popular it is) I've struggled to buy her "Olivia" things in gift shops as they've sold out.

I love the name and wouldn't change it but it is very popular! I also have a very popular name (was one of 5 in my class at school) so perhaps it has bothered me less than it would other people.

I'm an Olivia, I went to school with one and I know of one other. I do love my name though and have got many compliments on it :) if you like it, go for it!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/11/2016 14:53

All the Olivias I know are lovely.
If you like it use it, before a friend, brother sister or cousin does

littleostrich · 02/11/2016 15:53

I'm in Wales and only know one Olivia - she's about 18 now. No Olivias in the baby groups I attend.

If it helps, I picked a top 10 name and wasn't sure in case it was "too popular" but DS is nearly 2 and we have only met one other child with the same name. I think popularity can vary a lot depending on the location.

RiverTam · 02/11/2016 15:55

I don't know of any.

Onenerfwarfrombreakdown · 02/11/2016 15:56

I know one who is 8, that's all. It can vary a lot by geography. We are in Scotland.
DS has one of the most "popular" boys names but we've only ever known 2 others round here with the same name, only one of those in his entire year at school.
I would say go for it if you love it!

Sophronia · 02/11/2016 15:57

The only one I know is in her late twenties!

LuciaInFurs · 02/11/2016 16:02

I'm an Olivia and am in my early 20s, out of 500 people in my office there are four others. I have a seven year old niece with two Olivias in a school of 250 and have a friend with a one year old who hasn't yet met any baby Olivias in any baby clubs. We're all in the South East.

wineusuallyhelps · 02/11/2016 16:04

I know a few around age 7. One in her early twenties - we call her Liv.

IpDipCatnip · 02/11/2016 16:17

I teach, its very common I'm afraid!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 02/11/2016 18:16

OP, if you love it, use it, it's a lovely name.
