I love both names, but with the middle name Jane, I'd choose Eliza. I just think Eliza Jane runs better than Charlotte Jane. I like Charlotte Louise though. Charlotte needs a longer middle name, at least that's what I think! Good luck choosing, they're both pretty names.

Is Frances your surname or another middle name? If it's another middle name, what about Charlotte frances Jane?

Eliza.
It's different while still recognisable.

Eliza.

Although Charlotte is nice, like all 'royal' names it'll be popular and unless you want her to be the fifth Charlotte in her class at school.

MoonHare · 26/10/2016 16:05

Love the name Eliza.
Charlotte is a good name but more traditional.

Chinlo · 26/10/2016 16:06

I really like both, but Eliza is my favourite.

Kim82 · 26/10/2016 16:13

Charlotte. I have one and love the name (obviously!).

Frances is another middle name. Looks like Eliza is preferred. DH thinks maybe we should go with Elizabeth if it's going to be Eliza to give her more options?

That and someone told DH Eliza is "a bit East London". We aren't Brits so a bit confused by that one.

Charlotte. But prefer Elizabeth over that. Loads of Eliza's, it seems a bit faddy.

The thing is, the only extra "options" she gets are Beth and Elizabeth. Eliza can already be shortened to Ellie, El, Liz, etc.

And calling her Elizabeth on the birth certificate just to use Eliza in day-to-day life seems pointless, since Eliza is actually a real name of its own.

I'm a big fan of Eliza but not so much of Elizabeth.
