Our son's due date is Christmas Day Smile his middle name will be Nicholas.

Our final 7:

  • Alexander Nicholas
  • Benjamin Nicholas
  • Edward Nicholas
  • Frederick Nicholas
  • George Nicholas
  • Louis Nicholas
  • William Nicholas

Which is your favourite?

We like all the potential NNs, but will probably just see what develops - so will probably just be the obvious Alex, Ben, Ed, etc.

Surname is just embarrassing, so I won't put it Grin but it begins with an S and is 2 syllables.

Thank you!!!

They're all quite popular but that may not bother you.

I like George best. I too would avoid William as the Willi teasing potential is just too obvious.

Alexander can also be Sandy - very lovely!

Love Benjamin but I don't know if initials 'BS' would be a problem. Edward NN Ted was a nice suggestion.

Louis Nicholas.

SpecialStains · 19/10/2016 10:39

Alexander or Louis both lovely.

Love Nicholas. Couldn't use it as a first name?

Crispbutty · 19/10/2016 10:41

Alexander, shortened can be xander/Alex and still sounds good

Mummamayhem · 19/10/2016 10:46

Love Benjamin

Throughgrittedteeth · 19/10/2016 10:49

Edward is on my list too so I would go for that Smile
It's a cop out but I do think they're all lovely, this is my order of favourites though:

Edward Nicholas
Alexander Nicholas
William Nicholas
Benjamin Nicholas
Louis Nicholas
George Nicholas
Frederick Nicholas

The s as last letter of middle name and fist of surname is bit of a tongue twister.

Loyly · 19/10/2016 10:52

Alexander

Throughgrittedteeth · 19/10/2016 11:40

FWIW though, DP likes none of the boys names I like so I'm going to end up calling it potato at this rate.

Dorabella · 19/10/2016 12:11

Alexander Smile

TempsPerdu · 19/10/2016 16:42

Personally I'd go for Nicholas as the first name - love it! Of the rest, though, I think Edward Nicholas sounds best. I have a soft spot for Alexander too, but Alexander Nicholas sounds a bit unwieldy (plus the two together are possibly a bit too Russian Tsar!) . Nothing wrong with any of the others, but I'm less keen on George, Louis and Frederick.

gettingitwrongputtingitright · 19/10/2016 16:47

All nice. Like Frederick bedt nn Freddie. Also like Noah.

SorenaJ · 19/10/2016 17:41

Jupiter in 2004 Alexander was on place 20, in 2014 it's 22. Not much difference.

I vote for Alexander or Edward.

Plumbobby · 19/10/2016 17:42

Thanks everyone Smile well, Nicholas is nice as a 1st name, but people would probably make the Christmas reference Grin

I have a Louis so totally biased. Although don't think it goes well with Nicholas. Love Edward and Alexander. Would've love to call a child Teddy. That name suits all generations I think.

Biscuitsneeded · 19/10/2016 18:12

Edward Nicholas is gorgeous, although I love Nicholas so much I think you should have Nicholas Edward.
