Charlie Smile

Felix William is nice, but I do prefer Charlie William Grin

Felix...it means happy and lucky :-) It's my ds name and he absolutely loves it.

CancellyMcChequeface · 20/10/2016 07:40

Felix William is lovely! :)

I've wanted a Felix for years, ever since reading Georgette Heyer's Frederica, fully expected DH to veto it - he didn't but was unsure then after a week or so said it was really growing on him.

I called my ds Felix because of Frederica. I was completely convinced that DH was going to veto, but he loved it too. 15 months later, I am still so thrilled that my ds is called Felix. His middle names are William Arthur!

What excellent taste you have Lorelai Smile
I also love Arthur but DH hates it so it got removed from the list. Shame!

jack

Why, thank you! I do sometimes feel a bit Blush that I named my child after a character from a romance novel... but mostly I just ponder which Georgette Heyer character I will name dc2 after!!

AButterflyLightsBesideUs · 22/10/2016 07:29

I loved the names Julia and Adam from a Civil Contract which is one of my all time favourites. Not having anymore babies though after this so they remain fantasy names.

Blush I have three Heyer DSs and even had a "which Heyer hero should I name my DS3 thread?"

Posters were very keen on Sylvester Hmm but I wasn't Grin

MrsHathaway · 22/10/2016 09:24

... my DS3?" thread.

That'll teach me to MN whilst having my hair "styled" by a 5yo.

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 22/10/2016 09:25

I like Felix

Ollycat · 22/10/2016 09:30

Think they're all lovely. Felix is my favourite. If I went with Charlie I would put Charles on the birth certificate and then just call him Charlie.

Ankleswingers · 22/10/2016 09:32

Jack. Lovely name.

Charlie is nice but sorry op, I just think of a cat when I hear the name Felix.

daisypond · 22/10/2016 09:42

I'm not keen on birth names that are a shortened form of another name, because I don't see them as "proper" names in their own right and I wouldn't want them on the birth certificate. Whereas you seem to be able to shorten a name, it feels slightly weird to lengthen a name if the child wanted to in later life. So that would rule both Jack and Charlie out. Though John, shortened to Jack, and Charles shortened to Charlie, would be fine. I quite like Felix, too. But it feels a different name to your other suggestions.

MoonHare · 22/10/2016 10:02

I like felix.

I have a Dd tabitha though and admit that I like the feline feel of her name. I would see the cat connection as a positive! And anyway the most catty name in existence has to be Thomas (Tom) and no one ever says it's too catty. It's all just perception, so ignore those people.
Compared to felix, jack and charlie are dull.

n0ne · 22/10/2016 10:06

I like Felix best

mumgointhroughtorture · 22/10/2016 10:09

I have a Jack and I rarely hear the name. He too was the only one in his school for a while. if I could back and name him again I would still name him Jack its a cool name :)
