My twin girl is called Isla and I am trying to choose a name for her brother, help!

Alex, Cameron or Jack??

I'm Scottish and Irish and the middle name will be Alistair.

Thank you!

Cameron Alistair.

Sophronia · 15/10/2016 22:29

Not Alex, as Alistair is already a form of Alexander

I like Jack Alistair

notagiraffe · 15/10/2016 22:32

Cameron. Great name. And though Jack is a lovely name it's a bit over-used (not that that matters if you love it.)

SeashellHoarder · 16/10/2016 06:44

Alistair would be lovely for a first name.

SorenaJ · 16/10/2016 20:30

I agree, you can't really have Alex Alistair, as it is the same name. I think Alistair would work great as a first name. If it has to be the middle name, I would say Jack Alistair.

SansasEscape · 16/10/2016 22:33

Cameron is fabulous.

longestlurkerever · 16/10/2016 22:34

Can you really have Cameron without instantly thinking David though?

PipersPiping · 16/10/2016 22:35

Cameron.

MrEBear · 16/10/2016 22:39

Cameron, David would be the last person I'd think of.

PotatoBread · 17/10/2016 16:07

Cameron is a great name and goes well with Isla. If a baby was given this name I wouldn't associate it with twatface David

RiverTam · 17/10/2016 16:10

Jack.

Loyly · 17/10/2016 16:10

Cameron

Vixxfacee · 17/10/2016 16:13

Isla and Cameron are lovely together.

wibblewobble8 · 17/10/2016 16:16

id probably have cameron only due to alex being too close to alistair. But i gotta admit the first thing i though of with these names was Alex Salmond and David Cameron lol

FoofFighter · 17/10/2016 16:17

Alex and Isla - I like the way they both have same amount of syllables.

user1476527566 · 17/10/2016 20:41

Thank you for you comments, we have dropped Cameron and now might use Alistair as a first name! It feels more 'proper' and masculine than Alex although perhaps it doesn't go as well with Isla and will be shortened to Ali which is more feminine than Alex?!

I really like Cameron!

Coey2016 · 17/10/2016 21:54

Oops sorry just seen your latest post. Alastair is nice too, I prefer it to Alex personally

tweedledid · 17/10/2016 21:57

Cameron, but I'm bias!

Pipilangstrumpf · 18/10/2016 08:43

Alistair is a great strong name. Much more interesting than Alex.

PotatoBread · 18/10/2016 11:25

If you've ruled out Cameron (which is a great name btw), I prefer Alistair to Alex.

notagiraffe · 23/10/2016 18:10

All the Alistair/Alisdairs I know have been shortened to Sandy. Do you like that shortened version?
Al is good too, and more masculine than Ali if that matters to you.
