Still earlyish days but thinking about girls names. Which do you like best?

Madeleine
Eleanor
Or Georgina?

Madeleine or Eleanor are both beautiful. Would you use a nn? There are lots of Ellies and Maddies out there if that bothers you. Personally I'm not keen on Georgina as find it a bit fussy. I prefer Georgia but it is just personal preference.

Georgina without a doubt. There are so many Madeleines about.

TheDowagerCuntess · 14/10/2016 04:33

Maddie and Ellie would put me off the first two.

I prefer Georgiana to Georgina, but Georgina is still refreshingly different.

WhereTheFuckIsWonderWoman · 14/10/2016 04:37

As others have said. The school I work in is overrun with Maddies and Ellies. Georgina is a beautiful, classic name.

Pluto30 · 14/10/2016 05:28

Madeleine.

Georgina is lovely, but I know one (a very close family friend), but everyone always calls her Georgia, even those who know her well, because Georgia is so much more popular. My mum, who's known this poor Georgina since birth, still stumbles on her name and calls her Georgia. Now we just call her Georgie.

Raines100 · 14/10/2016 05:45

Madeleine.

Prefer Elena to Eleanor and Georgiana to Georgina.

Love Georgina and georgette 😊

CakeRattleandRoll · 14/10/2016 07:20

Madeleine

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/10/2016 09:40

Eleanor or Ellen.

roseteapot101 · 14/10/2016 09:41

Eleanor

MitzyLeFrouf · 14/10/2016 10:23

I love the nickname Georgie so I'll vote for Georgina even though I don't love it.

n0ne · 14/10/2016 10:25

Georgina or Eleanor. I'm bored of Madeleine.

TempsPerdu · 14/10/2016 13:03

Definitely Eleanor for me - pretty, timeless and nickname wouldn't necessarily have to be Ellie. You could have Nell/Lena/Leni/Nora - loads of options. Plus (randomly but interestingly) Eleanor is one of the most overrepresented names at Oxbridge. Smilewww.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-26634477

Madeleine is OK, but I really dislike Maddie and don't think it has quite as many alternative options as Eleanor. Plus as others have said there are loads of them about.

Really dislike Georgina - just a personal thing, but not a pleasant combination of sounds imo (don't like George/Georgia either for the same reason)

RiverTam · 14/10/2016 13:04

Eleanor.

I hate hate hate Maddie, such an ugly nickname of a beautiful name.

Georgina is too 1980s posh for me!

TeaEyeDoubleGErr · 14/10/2016 13:09

Eleanor

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 14/10/2016 13:12

Eleanor was my DPs choice of name but he let me have mine. I really liked it but not as much as my choice and he had named our DS.
Our name choice is much less common where we live.

Pallini · 14/10/2016 13:30

1st Eleanor
2nd Madeleine
3rd Georgina

Eleanor
Georgia
Madeleine

Eleanor was on my list had DS2 been a girl.

Georgina was my best friend in primary school. (My only friend actually) she was the sweetest, kindest girl you could meet.
Madeleine is meh. Don't particularly like it.

HerSpookyFattyness · 14/10/2016 18:19

Damn phone. Obviously meant to be Georgina not Georgia

DramaAlpaca · 14/10/2016 20:53

Georgina

Boolovessulley · 14/10/2016 20:56

Madeleine. I like Elenor but think it would get shortened to Ellie of which there are thousands.
Georgina is nice too.

Buntysoven · 15/10/2016 00:54

Love Georgina. Hate Eleanor for personal reasons...really hate it. Madeleine is a bit dull.

Sophronia · 15/10/2016 10:18

Georgina
