Hello,

I'm expecting my first baby (unsure if boy or girl yet), and have been thinking of baby names! Just wondered what you thought of the following:

Boys names (middle names after baby's father's grandfather's)
Arthur Christopher Alan
Henry Christopher Alan

Girls names (middle names after my two best friends)
Amelia Lucy Holly
Ellie Lucy Holly

Thanks!

Arthur or Amelia if I had to pick

I like Art or Artie as a nn for a boy

Henry
Ellie

Not what you are asking but I like Holly Amelia Lucy.

SorenaJ · 13/10/2016 18:27

I like all the names a lot, Ellie Lucy Holly is a lot of ll's, but she wouldn't actually go by all the names. All the names are really sweet.

EweAreHere · 13/10/2016 18:32

Sorry. I dislike both boys' names (old man-sounding Arthur and I know too many naughty boys called Henry), and the girls names you've picked are wildly popular at the moment.

DerelictMyBalls · 13/10/2016 19:15

All lovely, apart from Ellie, which is way too popular, IMO.

CancellyMcChequeface · 13/10/2016 19:41

I like Arthur and Amelia. :)

I think Arthur Alan Christopher flows better than the other way round, but all are nice names. Ellie Lucy Holly has too many repeated sounds!

Raines100 · 14/10/2016 07:16

Love Henry. Not keen on Arthur.

Amelia has more impact than just Ellie, and Ellie Lucy Holly is rather saccharine.

clumsyduck · 14/10/2016 07:19

Ellie Lucy Hollie sounds like you are saying 3 girls names which I guess you are haha but it doesn't really flow of you see what I mean

I like Amelia

And Harry for a boy

clumsyduck · 14/10/2016 07:19

Sorry Henry !

HeteronormativeHaybales · 14/10/2016 07:19

Henry and Amelia. But I second a pp's suggestion of going with Lucy as first name - it's beautiful, lovely meaning, and underused these days.

Not Ellie - it's a shortening, and a very bland one at that.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 14/10/2016 07:20

If you really want Ellie, how about Eleanor, Elena or Ellen - all lovely 'grown-up' names - on the birth cert?

VMac28 · 14/10/2016 08:09

Thanks for all your replies!
I like the suggestion of Arthur Alan Christopher, so might do that...
We chose the name 'Ellie' because I like Elyana, but fiance doesn't, and fiancé likes Eleanor, but I don't. So we compromised on Ellie Smile
