Love this name for a baby girl, as a stand alone name. (Find out tomorrow what I'm having eeek)Grin

I really like Ellie Sophia. (Can not use Sophia as a first name before people suggest)

What are your thoughts?

I love Ellie. It was our first choice and the only name we agreed on before we found out we are having a boy!

VilootShesCute · 10/10/2016 16:01

Best name ever. Have fun tomorrow!

bluebumblebeee · 10/10/2016 16:01

Me too, just like me and DH then Grin

I really like Dylan for a boy, but DH doesn't like it one bit. Struggling much more for boy namesHmm

CaptinMuma · 10/10/2016 16:02

Beautiful name x

bluebumblebeee · 10/10/2016 16:02

Viloot I completely agree!Grinthank you, I am so excited.

bluebumblebeee · 10/10/2016 16:03

Changed NN! Sorry for any confusion Grin

SuburbanRhonda · 10/10/2016 16:04

Very very popular (I work in a primary school) but if that doesn't bother you, go for it.

bluebumblebeee · 10/10/2016 16:05

Really! I thought it had died down a bit now. I don't know many in my area

Chinlo · 10/10/2016 16:27

I like it a lot. It was top 10 popular between around 2005-2010, that's probably why there are so many in primary schools right now! But it has dropped in popularity in recent years.

I love Sophia too so I think it's a great pairing.

SuburbanRhonda · 10/10/2016 16:28

There are 13 in our school (one-form entry primary) Smile

mrsblackcat · 10/10/2016 16:29

I prefer Eleanor as a full name. Ellie on its own looks a little unfinished somehow :)

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 10/10/2016 20:28

Very pretty and not as heard of now

MotherDuckSaid · 11/10/2016 07:17

I think its nicer as a nickname
Really like Dylan tho 👍
Have a fab time at th scan 😊

Pipilangstrumpf · 11/10/2016 08:07

SO popular that all my dd's friends called this need to add a surname initial.

katemess12 · 11/10/2016 08:07

I don't like it as a stand alone name.

One Tree Hill had an Elizabeth with the nickname Ellie though, and that's nice.

Millionreasons · 11/10/2016 08:08

Lovely name. I know more Eleanors and Ellens than Ellies for some reason. They all get called Elle for short.

neonrainbow · 11/10/2016 08:17

Very boring.

Ellie is lovely, and Ellie Sophia works well.

DramaInPyjamas · 11/10/2016 11:52

It's a lovely name, very popular though - my kids know about 10 of them between them at school

All known as Ellie B, Ellie F, Ellie S, etc

bluebumblebeee · 11/10/2016 13:01

Well my gut feeling was right, it's a girl! Grin

Thank you for all the replies. I have a 5yr old brother (big age gap I know haha) and he doesn't have any Ellie's in his class. Not sure about school as a whole, but it's not that popular where I am fromGrin

bluebumblebeee · 11/10/2016 13:01

It would really bother me otherwise, especially if I knew an Ellie... but I don'tSmile

DerelictMyBalls · 11/10/2016 20:28

I think it's overused, sorry.

I prefer Eleanor as the proper name, and Ellie for short because I'm not keen on shortened names given as a child's proper name. I'm not wild about Ellie, though - I just think of the song... Ellie the elephant packed her trunk...etc, etc.
