weegiemum · 07/10/2016 20:09

`Sorry, I don't like any of them

Loyly · 07/10/2016 20:09

Johnny

TimmysBrother · 07/10/2016 20:11

If you don't like any, why comment? Grin it's our final list, so isn't helpful.

Thanks everyone!

Love Danny Freddy Johnny

Benny is awful.

TwoKidsAndCounting · 07/10/2016 20:12

Freddie

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/10/2016 20:13

I agree OP, if someone doesn't have a preference why comment. It's stupid at best, unkind at worst.

TimmysBrother · 07/10/2016 20:13

We would spell it Freddy... Not Freddie Smile

My gs is Freddie but either spelling is nice!!

chinlo · 07/10/2016 20:16

Danny is the least childish sounding of them, so if you're registering exactly as these names rather than full names, I'd go with that.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/10/2016 20:17

TimmysBrother, you need to go for Danny 😄😄😄
I have one, he's amazing !

TimmysBrother · 07/10/2016 20:18

I thought Johnny sounded the most 'grown up', although I think all of them would become Ben, Dan, Fred, etc. Smile

Groundhogday2016 · 07/10/2016 20:19

Freddy

Definitely not Benny.

dovesong · 07/10/2016 20:20

I think Freddy and Johnny seem most like complete names, if that makes sense? They're lovely. To me Danny and Benny feel more like nicknames (not a criticism!). Also Benny reminds me too much of Benny Hill! Which might be a pleasant connotation for some but for me, not really.

chinlo · 07/10/2016 20:21

Johnny is second place in terms of adultness, true. I do know two Jons who used to be Jonnys though and both chose to change at about 15/16.

But yeah, if we assume they're all gonna drop the y, then Dan is still best. Or maybe Ben actually. Benny is horrible though.

TimmysBrother · 07/10/2016 20:25

Seems like Benny is the worst choice - I think I agree, the more I say it.

Timmy is still Timmy, but does get Tim, so he'll probably use that when he's older.

I know Timmy isn't liked on Mumsnet, so was a bit nervous about admitting I have one! Grin

We liked other names beginning with T, but think it begins to sound like they're a couple of cartoons, as they would match just too much.

Freddy is the nicest out of a bad bunch.

DelphiniumBlue · 07/10/2016 20:29

Benny is from Crossroads, bit of a simple chap for those who are too you g to have seen it, not really the sort connotation you're looking for, I suspect.
There are lots of Freddies around, so I'd go for Johnny , or maybe Danny.

Ikeameatballs · 07/10/2016 20:29

I love Danny but think it has a different feel to the others somehow.

I think Timmy and Freddy sound best together.
