Baby girl is nearly due and I'm still stuck on a name for her.

Middle name will sian after my auntie.

I have,
Lunah and lilah.

I know they won't be everyone's taste but I can't find anything else I like. Help me choose between the two or add your suggestions please X

I really like both but two points to consider:

  1. She will spend her life saying "with an H" after she says her name. Are you set on the spellings?

  2. Isla is very very common at the moment so I'd worry that Lila would constantly be misheard.

I think Lilah is lovely.

queenc81 · 07/10/2016 18:05

Good point milk, never thought about that.

Still so torn though, was so much easier naming my boys Shock

I prefer both names without the "h" at the end.

Luna is my favourite of the two.

MrsHathaway · 07/10/2016 18:07

I absolutely adore Luna - but the extra -h makes me want to pronounce it wrong: loo-NAH rather than LOO-nah.

Similarly I like Lila but Lilah looks ugly. Have you dismissed Lola?

I'm not sure I can think of anything very similar, but perhaps you'll like some of the other names I like:

Kitty
Bonnie
Ailidh
Stella
Sukey (from Susanna)
Bibi (from Beatrice)
Margot

NameChange30 · 07/10/2016 18:10

The only girl's name I can think of that's similar and has an "h" at the end is Dinah.

0pti0na1 · 07/10/2016 18:26

Delilah Sian, with Lilah as nickname.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 07/10/2016 18:32

Lilah Sian

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/10/2016 19:54

I prefer Lilah/Lila.
Lilah Sian, sounds nice.
How about Lyra Sian, it's lovely, hope this helps.

WeArePregnant11 · 07/10/2016 20:20

I really like Luna :)

LolaStarr · 07/10/2016 20:21

I love Luna, gorgeous name!

queenc81 · 07/10/2016 20:49

Thanks so much ladies

Mrshathaway how do you pronounce ailidh?

Reason I like lilah is it's the old fashioned spelling of lila, a lady at my grannies nursing home was named this and she was lovely and the name has always stuck with me.

I do like Lola but a close family friend has a Lola X

Ay-Lee (Ay to rhyme with hay)

Can also spell it Eilidh.

Cocochoco · 07/10/2016 21:10

I like Lilah.

There's also Lula.

Sophronia · 07/10/2016 23:43

Lila Sian

PotatoBread · 07/10/2016 23:46

Neither are my cup of tea but I'd drop the 'h' from both. Luna and Lila are miles better than Lunah and Lilah.

NameChange30 · 08/10/2016 09:04

I like Delilah and she could be Lila for short.

OP if you use the same name with a different spelling it's still honouring the person who originally had it.

Ohdofuckoffplease · 08/10/2016 15:17

Lilah is lovely. I would automatically spell it Lilah with h anyway, as in short for Delilah. Not saying you should put Delilah on BC though, I think Lilah is one of those names which is fine on its own.
