Thoughts on Ivory?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's a colour, not a name.

Sorry Blush

BellMcEnd · 02/10/2016 21:05

Um. No. Not keen. Sorry. What about Ivy instead?

Amandahugandkisses · 02/10/2016 21:06

I think it's beautiful

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 02/10/2016 21:06

Better for a girl than a boy, but I think it's pretty terrible either way.

Solasum · 02/10/2016 21:07

Elephant as a nickname?

Andcake · 02/10/2016 21:07

Makes me think of dead elephants

Yoarchie · 02/10/2016 21:09

Well it sounds nice as a word but the ivory trade is horrible so I don't think it's a great association. What about Iris instead.

Yoarchie · 02/10/2016 21:09

It's a nice sounding word but with bad connotations re ivory trade.

Maybe Iris instead?

Yoarchie · 02/10/2016 21:10

Oops I thought my post was lost so I rewrote it!

Brankolium · 02/10/2016 21:13

It just doesn't sound namey.

Ebony or Ivy?

GoldBubbles · 02/10/2016 21:20

Oh :( I like it, that's a shame

ScarletSienna · 02/10/2016 21:37

I think of the phrase, 'tickling the ivories' and then of tusks in a sad way.

RiverTam · 02/10/2016 21:42

Yes, sad dead elephants. I wouldn't.

I wouldn't do Ivy either though.

katemess12 · 02/10/2016 21:48

Bad. Not AS bad as Ebony, but still bad.

Ivy is much better.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/10/2016 21:49

It sounds nice till you think about what it means. Sad

Really not at all in good taste, sorry.

chinlo · 02/10/2016 22:12

I think of "Ebony and Ivory" - the names of thousands of interracial lesbian couples according to porn.

HoratioNightboy · 02/10/2016 22:14

I have a distant relative called Ivory. I think it's lovely!

minipie · 02/10/2016 22:25

Sorry dead elephant thoughts here too.

How about Avery?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/10/2016 08:11

No.
