Byker Grove Smile

Ilikegin · 02/10/2016 16:42

Donnelley ..

originalmavis · 02/10/2016 16:43

I think of very strong northern Irish accent. No idea why.

Nanasueathome · 02/10/2016 16:44

My oldest grandson, 6 years old, is Declan
Love the name

yeOldeTrout · 02/10/2016 16:44

Why does he want to Deck the guy called Lan -- Lan sounds Chinese so maybe he doesn't like Chinese people? (Sorry, am not British)

SunnyInMay · 02/10/2016 16:45

Meh.. it's ok I suppose. Inoffensive but a bit dull.

LunaLoveg00d · 02/10/2016 16:46

A really hideously behaved child I have come across. And Ant and Dec.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 02/10/2016 16:49

I quite like it but when I mentioned it to DP, he said: "well he'd have to be friends with an Anthony..."

We aren't even expecting so it's irrelevant but I want to find a boy's name we can agree on before the time comes where we have to think of it.

It's like Brian, Dermot, Terry or Gerard.

A dull name for an older man.

MargoReadbetter · 02/10/2016 17:07

No, though I can't say why. Maybe because it sounds like Decline.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 02/10/2016 17:07

Sigh... back to the drawing board again then.

I'd assume you were Irish or of Irish heritage.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 03/10/2016 16:15

My DP is Irish.

I've just read you're not actually pregnant - you numpty. Come back to me when you're sitting in a hospital bed staring at your newborn thinking "what the hell is your name little one??". Voice of experience...

On second thoughts, perhaps you have the right idea....

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 03/10/2016 22:56

I've got one already and luckily she was a girl and I had a name I'd always loved that DP liked too.

We could agree on a boy's name though. Just thought of this name recently and realised I quite like it.

LOVE IT

The weirdest kid in my primary school was named Declan.

Or was it Dylan...

Hmm. One of these. He truly was a weird duck. Can't like the names now.

Ham69 · 03/10/2016 23:30

I love it but then again I love Declan Donnelly so maybe that's why😀

Lilacpink40 · 03/10/2016 23:32

Daniel's far nicer if you like boy's names beginning with D.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 04/10/2016 05:37

Don't like Daniel.
