Leonore / Leonora

How are these names pronounced?

I assumed they were Lee-oh-nore and Lee-oh-nora, with the Leon- sound being more like in the name Leonardo.

My friend, on the other hand, said she would pronounce them Len-ore and Len-ora, with the Leon- sound being more like in the name Leonard.

Thoughts?

For me it's lee-oh-nore/a. Both lovely names imo

Lenora is a separate name, as is Lenor/e.

Lee-oh-nora and Lee-oh-nore are the correct pronunciations I believe,

I would have said them like you friend.

Lee oh nore here too.
Beautiful names.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 02/10/2016 12:26

I pronounce them, like you Kate.

My first instinct would be to pronounce them identically Grin.
Lia-nora for both.

DD's best friend is called Leonore, pronounced Lia-nora, nickname Lia. Gorgeous name!
