NC'd!

Looking for a name for Lara's sister - we can't find anything we like apart from Seren and DH says it's too hard for people to say (really).

Help!! Flowers

Serena? :)

I don't think Seren is too hard it's quite mainstream nowadays.

Mind you the iPhone thinks it's a typo - so who knows.

Thank you for the suggestions. I like Amy!

I LOVE Seren, though maybe I say it wrong? How does everyone else say it?! I say it like Sair-en but no emphasis on the R.

I know someone with a Seren. They pronounce it like seven with an r not a v.

hoddtastic · 01/10/2016 01:08

i know twins called Phoebe and Lara, think they go really well together. I love Jennifer and Maggie. Tess and Jocelyn, Celia and Esther, Ruth and Elizabeth, all have great pet names that go well with Lara.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/10/2016 07:34

Hi Unoriginal, it's pronounced as OptiOna says, not as you were thinking.
It is a beautiful name, your husband may like it, if pronounced correctly.
Here's hoping. 😄

Gah now I'm confused! My Welsh side of the family say it like SAIR-en/SEHren if that makes sense.

These are all fantastic suggestions - thank you all so much. And most of them I had circled in my baby name book which is interesting! Time to draw up a new list methinks...

I really like Seren! I'd not heard it before, but didn't have any problem with pronunciation. And it goes well with Lara. Go for it :-)

CeriBerry · 02/10/2016 23:24

I'm Welsh first language, and I don't say it like Seven! Both e sounds in the name are like the e in pen. So se-ren not se-run.
