We are both involved in jobs in nature/water/geology and my husband has a deep interest in starts/space.
I love gardening, the wilderness and animals so I would like a name that reflects this.

We are stuck on ideas (boy or girl names).
Our daughter is called Autumn and her middle name is Rose so nothing too similar to this for a girl.

I'm not far off my due date now and we are clueless as to what names to use!
Nothing that is likely to get the child bullied in school or affect job in the future though!!

I know a Rowan (boy) and 2 Willows (one of each).

My favourite "natural" name is Melissa, it's a herb I came across in Greece, the name apparently derives from the Greek for honey as it produces a lot of nectar. So it would
be a very sweet name

I also love Eilidh - means "sun, light or radiant one". Quite common where I am here in north Scotland but may be more tricky re pronunciation etc if you are elsewhere.

The Scottish Highlands lend themselves to nature names

Iona
Islay
Skye

Arran

(I'd probably avoid Rhum and Eigg though)

I'm a geologist, hillwalker and all-round outdoorist. I wanted to call the DC Mickleden (Mick) or Blencathra (Cath) but DH wasn't convinced.

I met a teenage girl called Barley the other day.

I also know a little girl called Bay. It really suits her.

I love the name Moss, if I ever had a second baby it was top of list. My sons name is on here but I had never really thought about it as a nature name. I also like clear water, winter, river, Willow. Good luck.

Autumn and Forrest is a pretty damn cool combo

Onenerfwarfrombreakdown · 25/09/2016 01:05

Actually I'm not entirely convinced about Forrest as he will no doubt be nicknamed Gump for his entire time at secondary school/college/uni Confused

morethanyoubargainfor Sat 24-Sep-16 21:26:17 I love the name Moss, if I ever had a second baby it was top of list.

My Grandfather was called Moss. In Ireland it's a traditional nickname for Maurice or Tomás. It's considered a bit of an old man's name nowadays but I've met two very young boys called Moss recently so it must be coming back into fashion.
