I love Tabitha, and know two very lovely young Tabithas.

I like Martha, and it's a family name for me, so I know lots of them.

I do like the name Jemima, but I don't love it. I know one child one, and two adults, who are shortened to Mima and Mim.

I like Eliza, but prefer it as a nickname for Elizabeth.

I don't like the name Lydia, even though I was at school with a very nice girl called Lydia. Maybe it's the Pride and Prejudice connection or maybe it's because the name reminds me do strongly of school that I can smell the musty scent of dust and old chalk from the music room every time I hear the name.

Sophronia · 23/09/2016 00:09

I like them all. I think we have similar taste. Jemima is my favourite.

Enidblyton1 · 23/09/2016 00:28

I like all of them. Eliza is becoming quite popular now - I've known several born recently. Tabitha and Jemima are my favourites from your list.

Pemba · 23/09/2016 00:35

Lydia is lovely and I also like Eliza. The others are all nice though, although I cannot disassociate Tabitha from cats, and Jemima is a problem name in the USA apparently (black stereotype of 'Aunt Jemima' on some food product, can't remember what, from what I hear). Still it has a nice sound to it.

AngharadTheSplendid · 23/09/2016 04:13

Really dislike Eilza, sounds so wishy washy to my ears.

Jemima my fave, followed by Lydia (though reminds me of eye lids), Martha is cute but a bit too 'on trend' (so may date). Tabitha is nice, just a bit catty, prefer Talitha.

thehugemanatee · 23/09/2016 04:18

Jemima is a lovely name but just FYI, it is considered to be racist by a lot of people in America so if you think you or dd might end up spending time there then I would avoid calling her Jemima.

Sierra259 · 23/09/2016 04:22

None of them are really to my taste, although they're perfectly nice names. Martha is definitely becoming popular, have come across 2-3 young baby Marthas this year. My favourite is probably Lydia and my least favourite is Tabitha.

Nelleflowerpot · 23/09/2016 16:11

Jemima and Tabitha are lovely. But I like the old fashioned Beatrix potter vibe! They are girly and underused.
Lydia is nice
Eliza always feels unfinished to be and is gaining popularity.
Martha seems really popular I know 4! To be honest I don't like it and it feels frumpy to me.

capercaillie · 23/09/2016 16:17

Like them all with Martha as top and Eliza as least favourite. Susannah is another similar name.

Caldini22 · 23/09/2016 18:12

I like Lydia, not so keen on the others

Whoooodat · 23/09/2016 18:22

Like them all except Lydia.

PotatoBread · 24/09/2016 13:40

I like Jemima and Martha, not keen on the others especially Lydia. Would be Jemima if I had to pick one

m0therofdragons · 24/09/2016 18:25

Love Lydia and Eliza (I have a Lydia - Lydi - myself and if I had another dd her middle name would be Eliza). Others are nice names too.

MoonHare · 24/09/2016 18:37

Love all of those names too. I have a 5 yr old Tabitha, who is kick ass, so am biased but it's obvs my fave from your list. Eliza next then Lydia Martha and Jemima in that order.
While Martha is lovely I know 4 of them. Depends if you want a more or less used name.
