Hi

Can't believe I'm asking a bunch of strangers but I need help choosing baby boy name. Due any day now and have a Jessica already.
Husband wants a Jenson or Joshua but I'm not keen on another j. Not sure why. Do I need to get over my fear of 2 J's?
I think I like Ben or Zak.
I'd like something a bit unusual but fear it being Poncey or chavvy!!!
Thoughts?

I think Jenson and Joshua are too simular to Jessica personally.

MidnightVelvettheSixth · 11/09/2016 15:53

No need to go for another J name, Joshua is fairly classic but Jenson will date.

Max
Theo
Edward

I like Zak, there's one at my DCs primary

I love Ben. It's safe gentle yet at the sametime strong and not overly common.
Jessica and Ben certainly has a ring to it
I don't like Joshua and Jensen is awful.
Not fussed on Zak either, but. It's all about opinions. I guess.

So, something unusual but not too [the word MNers hate] or poncey, and goes with Jessica.

Jessica and....

Barnaby

Edwin
Elliott
Guy
Gregory

Isaac
Kit
Otis
Patrick
Robin
Rannulph
Ralph/Rafe
Simeon
Saul
Winston
Zachary/Zachariah

What name do you worry about being poncy?

Nothing wrong with two J's

Me and my sister are two M's with a dad who is an M

The biggest obstacle is my husband. I like lots of names, including suggestions in here but he likes nothing!

Jessica and Joseph (Joe).
Jessica and Benedict (Ben).
Jessica and Samuel (Sam).
Jessica and Daniel (Dan).
Jessica and Thomas (Tom).

Don't go for another J! It's awful and you will end up calling one child by the others name.

My name begins with a C and my daughter's with a K. My DH and friends often call us by the others name! It's obviously not the end of the world and they correct themselves, but we never realised it would be an issue. I would imagine this would happen even more with siblings.

lucypee3 · 11/09/2016 17:37

I really don't want another j. I love Daniel but husband says no.

Dogolphin · 11/09/2016 17:39

Jessica and Isaac
Jessica and James
Jessica and Xander

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 11/09/2016 17:57

What kind of name does husband like OP ?

Caldini22 · 11/09/2016 18:03

Jessica and William
Jessica and Thomas

I do like Ben too. I think two Js would be ok, would prefer James.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 11/09/2016 18:44

I think Jessica is quite a 'normal' name so you couldn't have somethung like forest afterwards!

I would go for something like:
Daniel
Samuel
Joshua
Luke
Matthew
Felix
Aaron
Thomas
James
Patrick
Jonathan

lucypee3 · 11/09/2016 19:47

He doesn't overly like anything. It will give us something to chat about during the labour Confused

If all else fails, you've got six weeks after the birth to agree on something!

Or you can adopt the approach I did, mention the name you love at every possible opportunity until he comes around to the idea!

lucypee3 · 08/10/2016 01:31

We went with Benjamin!!!

Ben is nice but dull. I second Nathaniel which has a bit more excitement.
