Arshia, love it or hate it?
My husband decided Arshia for our daughter name but I'm still confused. I like Sia or Shea more
TIA

Sounds like arse-ia.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 09/09/2016 14:24

It's pretty but I think I'd like it more without the r.

Ellieboolou27 · 09/09/2016 14:28

Sounds too much like arse sorry

HarleyQuinzel · 09/09/2016 14:31

Definitely sounds like arse. What do you mean by your husband has decided ?

I quite like Shea actually.

Soubriquet · 09/09/2016 14:33

How do you pronounce it?

Arsh-ah?

Ash-ah?

Tiggeryoubastard · 09/09/2016 14:35

I have a Pakistani friend called Arshia. She's lovely but no, not keen not the name (neither is she).

Joinourclub · 09/09/2016 14:43

I have taught an Arshia or two. No teasing surprisingly. Much prefer Shae.

Caldini22 · 09/09/2016 15:04

Not keen

PotatoBread · 09/09/2016 15:49

Agree, too much like arse and could end up with arsey as a nn

KoalaDownUnder · 09/09/2016 15:50

Don't like it.

Much prefer Asha.

CourtJester · 09/09/2016 16:03

Sound like Arse-ier when i pronounce it. Confused

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 09/09/2016 16:12

I quite like it, but if you aren't happy with it, maybe try to find a compromise that you and your husband both like?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 09/09/2016 19:58

No OP, but Shea is lovely.

Loyly · 09/09/2016 20:05

No, sorry. It sounds like 'Arse Here'.

Sazzle99 · 09/09/2016 21:52

Agree with pps, as soon as I saw it the the word arse sprang out at me, it also sounds like arse-here when said out loud - sorry
