Hello all,

So my husband and I are having a little boy, but are really struggling for quirky, interesting, more unusual names.

The only 2 we can agree on are -

Finn
Atlas

I'm still undecided about Atlas, dh loves it and so did I when I first heard it. Few friends we've asked say it's great too, but I just can't settle with it!

I love Arlo, but again dh hates it plus our dog is called Mylo so too similar.

I'm just worried there's other names out there that we need to find and include in our decision!

Any recommendations??

Oh forgot to say we're Scottish, so love the thought of names wth Celtic heritage too!

Sorry atlas is just daft, didn't atlas carry the world on his back? Finn is OK

Maggie2828 · 09/09/2016 00:26

Atticus
Artan
Finan

Not keen on Arlo or Mylo at all. Atlas might be a burden to live with but quite cool as a middle name.

I like them both.

Really dislike Arlo

Otto
Lucas
Rufus

I really, really love Finn.

If I'd had son number 4, that would've been his name. As I won't be having any more, I got a puppy & called him Finn Grin

I agree that Atlas would make a good middle name, but I wouldn't use it as a first name as it's just too quirky for me.

I'm Scottish too! Just had DS 9 weeks who we named Cameron in the end. For family reasons we couldn't use it but I love: Kerr and whilst less Scottish I also love Mitchell

Atlas makes me think of the song "Achilles' Last Stand" by Led Zeppelin. Cool association, but maybe more usable as a middle name?

How about Flynn? It's similar to, but less popular than, Finn.

Ilovecharliecat · 09/09/2016 03:58

Atlas ... Ok different... I like it
Finn should be Finlay (sorry in my opinion but don't take any notice of me)....
Yep I like both names.....sorry I'm no help

HettyB · 09/09/2016 06:33

I much prefer Atlas to Finn.

I'm finding it hard to suggest alternatives as, to me, Atlas and Finn are totally different types of name, but I'll try...

Caspar
Toby
Rafferty
Louis
Euan
Ezra
Enzo
Hugo
Louis

Atlas is quite nice, not keen on Finn.

Tristan
Jude
Wilbur
Dylan
Edwin
Marcus
Ray
Victor
Solomon
Jasper
Felix
Peter

Flynn
Fergus
Griff
Oran

CodyKing · 09/09/2016 16:02

I like Finn

What about Harris Owen Orry Alpin

I'm liking Gregory at the moment!!

Would have lived a Cory or Cody

Pipilangstrumpf · 09/09/2016 22:19

Atlas and Arlo are much nicer and more interesting than Finn (which is already starting to sound a little dated imo).

Also like the suggestions of Marcus, Atticus, Victor or how about Quentin or Quinn?

Mummydummy · 09/09/2016 22:32

I like Finn, Dylan, Gregor and Toby. And carrying on the Scottish theme:
Murdo
Hamish
Brodie
Adair
Hector
Fraser
Christie
Keir
Roderick
