We live in England, so although I love the more traditional Really welsh names my English husband wants something that isn't going to cause problems with pronunciations etc

Aneurin? Most people aware of the name because of Aneurin bevan, and can be shortened to 'nye'

Beware of names that will be constantly mispronounced. 'Hedd' for example will be mispronounced as 'head' (should sound like Haithe). Dylan will be Dillon instead of dull-Ann. Owain will be Owen. Don't even go there with dafydd, or basically any name with 'll', 'ch' or 'dd' letters

What about Trystan? Rhys? Macsen? Macs? Aled? Ioan?

Omg no, not grunt. In my (ignorant) Englishness Geraint is very easy. Gerant. Bit (not a lot) more pronunciation in Welsh but beautiful.

Aneurin should be pronounced
an-ay-rin despite the 'nye' shortening.
