For a girl? It makes me think of Taylor Swift

ZooKeeperToAMonkey · 05/09/2016 20:57

We actually like it for a boy!

Tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor, rich man, poor man, beggar man, theif.

That's what it makes me think of.

ifcatscouldtalk · 05/09/2016 21:01

I know of a Taylor (boy) and a Tayla (girl). If this makes any sense it's not my usual taste in names but I do quite like it.

midcenturymodern · 05/09/2016 21:03

It makes be think of The Tailor of Gloucester

PopFizz · 05/09/2016 21:05

I know of a Taylor (male) and it's fab, really suits him, and is different without being wacky.

I also have known Tayla Taylor and a couple of other variations as girls.

Vixxfacee · 05/09/2016 21:36

Like it.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 05/09/2016 21:40

We wanted Taylor for a boy as we had only ever heard it used for boys until about 4 months before he was born when there just seemed to be loads of girl Taylors. In the end we used it as a middle name, I still love it though.

Sophronia · 05/09/2016 21:41

Ah, I do prefer it for a boy.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 05/09/2016 22:50

I like it for a girl, but not for a boy

Foxtato · 08/09/2016 19:41

A Taylor Swift song popped in my head when I read it. Think they're a lot more girl Taylor's than boy.

Mybeardeddragonjustdied2016 · 08/09/2016 19:42

I have a ds Taylor!!
He is 21.

Foxtato · 08/09/2016 19:43

*there are
I think it's an ok name

MrsJoeyMaynard · 08/09/2016 19:47

The only Taylor's I've come across in real life are boys, but it's a unisex sort of name.

USBstuck · 08/09/2016 19:48

I'm not a fan at all of surnames as first names, but if you like it, just go for it!

Loyly · 08/09/2016 19:52

Just personal preference - I always really dislike surnames used as first names, sorry.

Ryooki · 08/09/2016 21:37

A boy in my family is called Taylor. It suits him but it took some getting used to and I still see it as more of a girls name...

elQuintoConyo · 08/09/2016 21:46

At one point Taylor Swift was dating Taylor Lautner Grin

Better for a boy, horrible for a girl imvho!

sunnydayinmay · 08/09/2016 21:49

I know a 45 year old male, a 9 year old boy, and a 9 year old girl called Taylor. Not my favourite name, but I mainly think of it as a boy's name.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 08/09/2016 21:58

Love it for a boy.

dotdotdotmustdash · 08/09/2016 23:22

I think it's a fairly charmless name for a boy or a girl, there are plenty of names out there with more character.

MrsCharlieD · 09/09/2016 22:18

Makes me think of taylor hanson. I was in love with him 20 years ago and therefore will always love the name.

Pipilangstrumpf · 09/09/2016 22:21

Definitely masculine sounding! Not a name I'd choose, makes me think of a taylor...
