Iris, Isobel or Eva

Ok - so I think this is our shortlist. DHs fave is Eva which I do really like but I worry is too similar to Ava which is v popular and I also worry that it may end up one of those names that goes out of fashion (whereas DH thinks it is strong classic name). We do both like the other 2 names as well but I got first choice on sons name so feel I should give strong preference to his fave for a girl. Any views on Eva, Isobel or iris?

All three are lovely. Personally I would go with Iris as the first choice and then Eva. Isobel is very popular around here, more so than Eva.

Iris is lovely, I really like it and only know one of those whereas I know about eight little Eva/Evie/Ava's. I love Isobel too (and you have the best spelling IMO) but I'm not keen on Izzy as a nn.

Iris, it's less popular than the other two

They are all lovely but Eva and isobel (and their variants) are ridiculously popular round here so I'd go with iris.

I'd choose Iris

Like others have mentioned, Isobel and Ava are really popular. I would go with Iris. Unless you love Isobel and Ava go for that as you need to love the name.

I am expecting girl twins in November and we are currently settled on Isabel (my fave) and Eva!(DP choice) I think they are both gorgeous x

Btw the village I live in has a couple of Irises, no Isabels and one Eva. So not overly popular, any of them x

I prefer Isobel. If I remember correctly that particular spelling has dropped out of the top 100

I actually agree with your DH that Eva is more of a classic name than the other two. I think Iris could end up being the most dated of the three, but they're all nice.

I love Isobel but with all the combined spellings, it's one of the most popular names at the moment. I like this spelling the best though.

Eva and Isobel are gorgeous names, but quite popular.

Iris is less popular (but stlll fashionable) but just not half so nice.
