Please give her the option of Madeleine.

You can always use Maddie but she might prefer a 'proper' name when she's older, and to put on CVs, etc.

I think it's fine but my son has a nickname version of a "long" name...think Nick instead of Nicholas, but it's not that

And infinitely preferable to Madison.

It's fine. I don't really like Madeline or Maddison, but Maddie is ok. I wouldn't go for any of the three personally (sorry) but if had to, I'd pick Maddie.

I don't see why you would have to name her Madeleine or Madison if you don't want to.
If you want her to be known as Maddie, then go for it.
