Zain, Aidan or Adam

We have our top 3 names, we just can't decide between the three, Adam's my least favourite but DH's number one pick, I love the name Zane and DH's likes it and we both like Aidan, help us pick, what do you think of the names.

Adam is my favourite.

Then Zain ...you spelt it Zain in the title but Zane in the OP so not sure which one you want. I don't like the Zane spelling.

I really don't like Aidan, sorry.

Aidan then Adam then Zain or Zane. Not that keen on the last one at all really.

Adam is classic and timeless but Aidan has an Irish sound to it which I love.

Adam is my favourite by far. Zain just reminds me of that annoying one from One Direction!

I have an Adam. We got lots of very good comments on it and we hardly ever encounter another. He gets called Ads or Ad by his school friends.

My only annoyance is that when people shout it (eg his team mates on the pitch) they kind of pronounce it Adeeeeeeerm which is weird. I am a bit posh so I pronounce it Adm without a second vowel IYSWIM.

I don't feel particularly warm towards Zane and it definitely feels like it wasn't chosen by the same person as the person who chose Adam. It makes me jump to the ?One Direction dude who actually I think is Zain.

Aidan is fine (and good pedigree) though not my cup of tea, but in some areas there are a lot of Haiden/Jayden/Kaiden names so it feels more popular/common/ubiquitous than it deserves. I don't know if that's a consideration.

Zayn is one of my all time favourite names.
It's a very old name, which doesn't just belong to Zayn malik.

I like Adam also. Not fussed on Aidan

I'm suprised a lot of people don't like Zain (no idea why I spelt it Zane in the OP) I was so sure that was going to be a big winner

And really suprised at a majority liking Adam, when I mention it to ppl in real life, I get a lot of negative comments, it's bland, boring, old, basic etc but DH loves it & I like it well enough

We both really like Aidan, it's just we each prefer Adam or Zain, but I'm pleasantly suprised at the response Aidan has received

I prefer Adam.

I think Zain (though not 100% sure of pronunciation - probably to rhyme with mine) is Hebrew for penis.

My Aidan is 14 and I've never regretted his name, it worked as a baby, as a wee boy and still works for a 6foot spotty teen! I can't tell you how much i like his name.

He was delighted to go to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) in Northumbria as thats where St. Aidan was the Abbot.

Adam is classic. I had an arsehole ex called that and still like it! Aidan also nice, definitely Irish but less strictly these days.

If someone was called Zain I would expect them to be of Arabic/Middle Easten heritage, are you/your DH?
