Relatively traditional names for a boy?

I am really struggling with possible names for the baby I'm expecting. For girls we have lots of options but for boys we used them all up on DS1 or there's a close relative with the name.

So any thoughts for relatively traditional, can be shortened if wanted, doesn't end in an M, doesn't start with S or A?

I like Nathaniel, Ludovic, Nicholas, and Felix - DH less so

One if mine is Nicholas, we shorten it to Nicky which suits him well. How about Christopher with nn Kit. Or John or Jonathan. Or Alexander, nn Alex or Lex

DS1 is Alexander so we're avoiding the same initial (for postal reasons!)

Can't have John as that's already in the family.

Christopher nn Kit or Kester I really like but DH is less keen. He is inclined to more viking names like Magnus and Thor which ain't happening

What about Maximus? Sounds thor-like but can be shortened to the lovely Max.

Mark - DH has about 85 friends called Mark so I think he'd rule it out.
Robert - already in the family
Jack - Would have to be John as Jack is a nn (but what DS1 wants to have for the baby) and John is taken
Edward - Possible
George - already in the family
Luke - Not keen
Matthew - Friends of DH who aren't Mark are all Matts
Jonathan - Possible but it's a cousin of mine
Philip - possible
David - possible although not keen on Dave
Russell - not keen
Daniel - possible
Christopher - I like, DH less keen
Michael - already in the family
Dominic - Possible, sort of in the family but as a middle name
Jason - not keen, I immediately think Donovan
Benjamin - already have a Ben in the family

I have a very big family and am the last to have children!

Ooh tough one, first thought was William but that ends in a M.

How close in the family? I would have no qualms picking the same name as a family name unless it's sibling or niece/nephew. Especially if you have a big family.

Also re: Jack, that's just being picky. Jack is clearly a full name in its own right these days. Very much so.

Already in the family will be sibling, BIL or nephew. There's bloody loads of us.

I totally get that lots of people would see Jack as a name on it's own but personally I see it as a nn - too much reading about the Kennedys

Of the above I like Theodore a lot.

Frederick is great but is already taken. As are Richard, Alasdair, Joseph, Leonard (which I'm gutted about because I love Leo), Paul, Peter, Francis and Hugh.

I was just going to suggest Francis. I think Fran for a boy sounds fab.

Or Stanley? Stan is cool for a young boy.

Marcus?

Marcus is a possible although we do have a good friend called Marcus. Not sure it would go with our surname as very alliterative
