DMIL is Cadence, so it's nice for that reason too.

Opinions?

Don't think the name will go down well on mumsnet.
I wouldn't use this name but can understand the family link which I think is lovely. Can you use as middle name?

crje · 07/08/2016 23:03

Not a fan

Sounds like a product name

PeekAtChu · 07/08/2016 23:03

Nothing wrong with it in itself but it's a big ubiquitous. Every second little boy these days seems to be some variant of Cayden/Jayden etc.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 07/08/2016 23:03

I think it's lovely.

Tiggeryoubastard · 07/08/2016 23:04

It's one you hear screeched. Usually belongs to a mullet haired boy with an earring. Awful. Truly awful.

SansaClegane · 07/08/2016 23:05

Horrid. No.

chocoLit · 07/08/2016 23:07

Nope

hownottofuckup · 07/08/2016 23:07

I quite like it actually, especially with the family connection and no 'y'
I don't know any Caydens so it doesn't hold any connotation for me.

donajimena · 07/08/2016 23:07

No. Absolutely not. Can't help but think you already know that though!

austenozzy · 07/08/2016 23:13

Agree with tigger. Also sounds like a detergent.

Stevefromstevenage · 07/08/2016 23:15

No sorry

birchygoo · 07/08/2016 23:17

I like it - but then again I don't like half the names that seem to be popular on here

Catgirl83 · 07/08/2016 23:19

Sorry, no. I also agree with Tigger.

Onedaftmonkey · 07/08/2016 23:19

In our road we have a Caden, Hayden and a Jayden. I don't like any of them (little shits that they are)

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 07/08/2016 23:22

Cade?

BettyDraper1 · 07/08/2016 23:28

I read before that registers with the names 'Cayden, Hayden and Jayden' make teachers' hearts sink. Always the naughty boys, apparently.

LockedOutOfMN · 07/08/2016 23:30

I like Cadence, but I don't like Caden, not least because if I heard it I might think it was Aiden and even if I heard correctly I wouldn't know how to spell it.

Kiwiinkits · 07/08/2016 23:32

chavtastic, sorry.

LucyFuckingPevensie · 07/08/2016 23:33

As you may have guessed it's not really a MN name, we have friends in Cornwall who name their ds Cadan as it is a Cornish name.

It won't get a very good reception on here, but that really doesn't matter. If you like the name go for it.

EllenDegenerate · 08/08/2016 00:36

There are worse names.

Its it as if you're spelling it Cayden and it has family significance.

You won't feel any love for it here but fwiw it wouldn't effect a raised eyebrow from me.

Porcupinetree · 08/08/2016 08:33

Horrible in my opinion, sorry.

Tuiles · 08/08/2016 08:37

I know a Kayden, a Cayden and a Caeden and they are all lovely boys from a variety of backgrounds. I think it's a great name.

GinIsIn · 08/08/2016 08:46

I'm sorry but it's a no from me too, for the reasons given above.

MephistoMarley · 08/08/2016 09:20

People will make assumptions because as you've seen classism is a real issue with names. Caden type names are considered working class which obviously also means poorly behaved and badly parented Hmm
Having said that I don't like Caden just because it doesn't look like a finished name. It isn't a variant of cadence so that link is a bit tenuous.

MidnightVelvettheSixth · 08/08/2016 09:32

I'm not a fan, I much prefer your spelling to the more usual Kaiden though.

Our primary is awash with Jayden/Kayden/Braydon etc, I think it will date horribly as a name & be the Gary of the future!

Plus as you can see here, some people do ascribe socio-economic status to a name....
