DMIL is Cadence, so it's nice for that reason too.

Opinions?

Def no. Sorry.

Oxtailchambermaid · 08/08/2016 11:07

My friend has a 9, (maybe 10?) yr old DS called Caden. She thought it was an unusual, Irish heritage choice. Wouldn't really talk to me about it when I was having mine and debating names, clearly she isn't happy with the popularity of it in recent years and as a lot of people have remarked above, the socio-economic connotations it has now.

ElEmEn · 08/08/2016 11:08

Oh dear, okay. That's really sad! I liked it.

Thanks all

Don't be ridiculous. It's not working class. That's insulting to the working classes. How patronising that you think all the working class are the sort to screech and pierce their children.

Nah. Every kayden/ cayden i know has been awful

Tiggeryoubastard · 08/08/2016 11:20

I didn't imply it in the slightest. I don't see or think that working class people are like that, but if you do, that's your view.

Tiggeryoubastard · 08/08/2016 11:28

No. If I'd felt it i'd say it. I don't believe it's the case.

MrsGsnow18 · 08/08/2016 12:26

I'm really surprised by people saying that it's not a MN name?
I'm very curious now as to what a MN name is?Hmm

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 08/08/2016 13:14

I think it's fine. Might get misheard as Hayden, Aidan though.

LucyFuckingPevensie · 08/08/2016 13:39

I think it is very much implied on here that the Jayden, Cadan type names are way too working class and simply not high court judge material. You can tell by the sneezy tone of the posts.
Op, honestly go for it if you like it. Don't let MN put you off a name if you like it.

dontpokethebear · 08/08/2016 13:44

Sorry, but it is a bit chavvy Sad

LucyFuckingPevensie · 08/08/2016 13:45

BigcatLittlecat · 08/08/2016 13:49

With that spelling are you having a girl? That's what I would think.

WaitrosePigeon · 08/08/2016 17:23

Tbh I quite having a kid with a name that middle class wannabe snooty twats get judgey about !! Lol

CheckpointCharlie2 · 08/08/2016 17:34

atruth beat me to it, was going to suggest Cade as well! It sounds nice but I think as pp have said it is a popular sounding name with many many Jayden's etc in my neck of the woods! I know a Cayden too.

LucyFuckingPevensie · 08/08/2016 17:39

I know of one Jayden, one Aiden and one Cadan. All different ages (one miles away). Our area is very multicultural though so we have lots of Mohammeds, Sergios, Vicktors etc. Having an issue with popular names really depends on where you live.
