Lorenzo or Luca

Help please! I am italian but our son will very likely grow up in England.
I love the name Lorenzo in Italy but am not sure how it sounds to a British ear - too foreign? Too nationally identifying? Or cool and a little exotic?

While in Italian I prefer Lorenzo to Luca, we are thinking of going with Luca just so he has a name that travels better.

Would love your thoughts, from a British perspective, of how Lorenzo sounds to you and what you associate with the name.

I would assume a Lorenzo is an Italian. Why is that a problem? It's an easy to pronounce name for Brits (I also adore Enzo)

That said, Luca is used by Brits so might not be so identifying as Italian if that's what you want to avoid plus easy to pronounce.

Pronunciation won't be a problem or anything like that.

And FWIW, I think it's a nicer name than Luca.

I would assume the boy had Italian connections of some kind if I heard either name, nothing wrong with that.
They are both easy to pronounce for an English speaker.Go for the one you prefer.

Lorenzo is fine! I knew of a little Lorenzo and didn't think anything particular about his name.

Lorenzo. Luca is one of those over-used names that's become boring. Like Oscar.

I know brothers named Lorenzo (Enzo) and Luca - I think Enzo is just slightly my favourite. They're both under 7 - there's been no issue with pronounciation/spelling. I don't think of them as particuarly exotic or cool - they're lovely names. I think the ones I know might have an Italian grandmother but I wouldn't automatically assume.
