Really started to grow on me. What are your thoughts?

Between Rory and Louie at the moment. Can not seem to agree on any other names so new suggestions would be helpfulSmile

I really like Rory.

I like Louis more, but it has to be spelt like that for me.

Great names.

I know quite a few friends who have chosen the name Rory recently. Personally I really don't like it, but you would be in good company if you did choose I'm sure. Popular without being overused.

beenaroundawhile · 04/08/2016 12:55

Pressed Post too soon!

I really like Louie, great name

PlaymobilPirate · 04/08/2016 12:56

I love it - dh vetoed it for ds and I was gutted.

A tradesman came to our house last week and he was called Rory - it's such a friendly name to introduce yourself as!

MrsCaecilius · 04/08/2016 13:24

I prefer Rory. I associate someone strong and fun with that name. I find Louie a bit wet for some reason.

DerelictMyBalls · 04/08/2016 13:31

Rory is nice, I don't think it will ever become too popular.

ApocalypseSlough · 04/08/2016 13:36

I can't say Rory. Waweee Blush
Louis is lovely or Lewis, but that spelling reminds me of one of Donald Duck's nephews.

Lorelaiandrory · 04/08/2016 13:37

Makes me think of Rory from Gilmore Girls - so in my head it is a female name.

parisgellar · 04/08/2016 13:39

Love it! My DS is named Ruairí, Irish version.

panegyricS1 · 04/08/2016 13:43

Rory - a strong and stylish name. Love it.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/08/2016 13:48

It may be a female name in your head, Lorelei, but in the UK and Ireland Rory is just about always a boy's name. I like it and prefer it to Louis. Agree that Louis is a far better spelling than Louie.

OrlandaFuriosa · 04/08/2016 13:58

Love it. The nn for Roderick, which I also love. Both can be spelled English or Gaelic or Erse.

heron98 · 04/08/2016 14:01

Love it. One of my favourite boys' names.

leedsladyx · 04/08/2016 14:18

Thanks for all the useful feedback everyone. Coming to think of it I do prefer the spelling Louis. We know a Louis and it is pronounced Lewis, which is DH point, With the spelling Louie, no one can really go wrong! I agree Louis looks much better written down.

Rory is definitely my favourite at the moment, however DH is not too keen and prefers Louie with this spelling.

I can see us never agreeing!Hmm

Love the name Rory.
The one I know has family members Aidan and Calvin.

SorenaJ · 04/08/2016 15:38

Love Rory, and prefer that to Louie.

DramaAlpaca · 04/08/2016 16:42

I love Rory, it's one of my favourite names.

RockinHippy · 04/08/2016 16:54

I don't dislike it, but it has become a very popular dogs name around here, so that puts me off

Greenteandchives · 04/08/2016 16:58

I love it but wasn't brave enough to use it, some years ago. Wish I had. I liked Lionel too. Bit of a theme developing there...

LunaLoveg00d · 04/08/2016 17:31

I have a Rory. His name was practically unheard of when he was born as we lived in London at the time, since moving back to Scotland there are lots of Rory, Ruari or Ruaraidh and other variants around. But all of them male!!

CodewordRochambeau · 04/08/2016 23:18

In Gilmore Girls, Rory isn't the character's given name - it's a nickname for Lorelai to distinguish her from her mum, who has the same name. It's definitely a boys' name, even to Gilmore Girls fans.

peggyblackett · 04/08/2016 23:22

Rory is fabulous - I love it!

Really not keen on Louie or Louis.

Cahu58 · 04/08/2016 23:30

Was the name I was going to give my DC2 but DC2 was a girl. Sooo... Love the name Rory, please use it!

NewStartNewName · 04/08/2016 23:44
