Sarah, Sadie or Bella?

Our DD is less than a week old and we chose a name for her, but aren't loving it. We had Sadie on our short list when I was pregnant, but have chosen Samuel for a boy name if we're ever to have one, and I find having two with the same initial a bit bleh.

We both love Bella (hate the longer versions like Isabella), but know it's considered rather trendy at the moment. We both love Sarah too, but the S thing applies again.

Middle name is Chenault, so the options are:
Sarah Chenault
Sadie Chenault
Bella Chenault

Also, I know Sadie can be a NN for Sarah but not sure how naturally that will come to people of DD's generation.

Any similar suggestions are welcome too.

Thanks. Smile

Bella

Congratulations!

Sarah, and even if in future you have a boy and still like samuel it's fine to have the same initial!

Sarah

Magazinepile · 04/08/2016 09:35

Bella, it's quite popular for a shortening of Isabella but not on its own. It's a beautiful name op and congratulations on your little one! XFlowers

Sarah. It's beautiful and classy and more or less unheard of now.
Sadies and Bellas are in abundance. There'll probably be 5 in each class.

SpidersFromMars · 04/08/2016 09:55

Sarah, with nn Sadie. She only needs to introduce herself once as Sadie.

Sophronia · 04/08/2016 11:47

Sarah - love it.

minipie · 04/08/2016 12:01

Bella

Belinda would be a more unusual long name for Bella (if you wanted one)

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/08/2016 12:03

I don't mind Sarah, but would chose Sadie or Bella

HallaWalla · 04/08/2016 12:06

Definitely Sadie or Bella. Beautiful.

I'm in my 30's and literally have 9 Sarah's in my phone contacts. For this reason I find it very dull. Sara (saa-ra) would be a good alternative.

It's not really been given enough time to become unusual yet.

CremeEggThief · 04/08/2016 12:06

I don't think Bella goes well with your surname, so I vote for Sadie.

Porcupinetree · 04/08/2016 12:36

Definitely Sadie.

PterodactylToenails · 04/08/2016 13:39

I used to think Sadie was a dogs name but I really like it now. I would go Sadie.

BellaMoo · 04/08/2016 15:20

Love Bella and Sadie.

SorenaJ · 04/08/2016 15:38

Definitely Sarah. Sadie is too close to sadist.

GoldPlatedBacon · 04/08/2016 16:55

If you both love Bella, then choose Bella!

DramaAlpaca · 04/08/2016 17:25

I'd choose Bella.

rosegoldie · 04/08/2016 17:32

I was going to say Sadie, but Sarah is a lot less common nowadays and beautifully elegant.

Sarah Smile

CordeliaFrost · 04/08/2016 19:27

Sarah would be the fresher choice, it's still in steady use, but nowhere near as popular as it once was. While Bella isn't overly used on its own, most the girls I know with -belle or -bella names, go by Bella, so it feels overused.

Sadie is very much on trend as well.

ladybird69 · 04/08/2016 19:32

Sadie it's a family name Smile

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 04/08/2016 19:39

Saira, pronounced Sye rah

Alisvolatpropiis · 04/08/2016 20:11

Sadie.

Sarah is really dull.

Bella is nice but overused at the moment.

ApocalypseNowt · 04/08/2016 20:13

SorenaJ Sadie is too close to sadist.

Ah! I see you've met my DD....! Grin

marblestatue · 04/08/2016 21:47

Sarah is a lovely name. I don't know of any little Sarahs.
