DSis is having a boy and want's to name him either Anakin or Kirk Grin as you've probably guessed she's a big fan of Star Wars/Star Trek.

She's not budging, so which do you prefer?

Kirk

Dozer · 02/08/2016 20:58

Even Darth would be better than Anakin!

ninenicknames · 02/08/2016 21:02

Kirk was also in TOWIE.

Luke has to be

BikeRunSki · 02/08/2016 21:07

There's an Anakin on our work internal contacts list. He's based in a different office though.

There is a boy a boy called Obi at nursery with DD.

Back to the original Q, I prefer Anakin.

HyunaRiddle · 02/08/2016 21:16

Suprised so many like Kirk, I definelty prefer Anakin but I actually liked the character Wink but James Tiberius surname would a really cute name so I might start pushing that.

Another vote for Tiberius.
Anakin is dreadful!

SueTrinder · 02/08/2016 21:32

Another vote for James Tiberius. I have a friend who has named her children after Doctor Who companions but only the true fans would make the connection. Completely normal names it's just the combination.

HoratioNightboy · 02/08/2016 21:33

I like Anakin, it sounds nicer than Kirk (which isn't as modern as you may think - was in use in Scotland in the 18th century).

Almost every year there are at least one each of Elvis, Bowie and Lennon in the records, and Anakins are cropping up more and more often. Tiberius, not so much...

rainbowstardrops · 02/08/2016 21:40

A big no to both of them! Is this a windup???!!!! Grin
Better to go the whole hog and go for Spock imo!

I actually quite like Obi though Blush

MimiSunshine · 02/08/2016 21:44

I know an Obi (never made the Star Wars connection before) and a Lennon.

pepperpot99 · 02/08/2016 21:49

Why don't you just call it spock. You can have its ears operated onto make it look like a real vulcan😐

Blu · 02/08/2016 21:55

Another vote for R2D2

iklboo · 02/08/2016 21:55

The more I think about it, the more I'm loving Obi!!! What a cool name?!

NeedAnotherGlass · 02/08/2016 22:48

I always wanted a girl so I could call her Jadzia

(Anakin is awful)

Nannawifeofbaldr · 02/08/2016 23:14

Han?

Anything other than Anakin

SorenaJ · 03/08/2016 12:13

Not Anakin. I actually think Dalek is great. So is Obi.

ToFindAndWakeTheDreamer · 03/08/2016 12:21

I wouldn't want to be called Anakin if was being interviewed for a job by senior staff who grew up with the original Star Wars trilogy.

MsRinky · 03/08/2016 17:44

I once met a girl who I thought was called Anakin Ross, but she turned out to be Anna Kinross. I was relieved for her.

iklboo · 03/08/2016 17:54

Or

Romulan

finova · 04/08/2016 08:29

I knew a boy named Jakan that was something to do with Star Wars and it sounds nice.

Just5minswithDacre · 05/08/2016 01:11

I knew an Obi short for Obed (sp?), which was an old family name and presumably therefore a 'real' name.

dotdotdotmustdash · 05/08/2016 10:41

I vote R2D2, Arty for short

Gowgirl · 05/08/2016 10:51

What about ford?
