Is it acceptable to have 2 Middle names

I was just wondering what people thought about having 2 Middle names for a child I don't want it to sound too pretentious or anything. The reason we were thinking was if its a girl we would have Valerie as a middle name after my husbands late mum, I always wanted to include the name joy after my grandma. So we would potentially have Sophia Valerie Joy and then our surname (which is short)

Totally! Even more so when explained. My DD is Ottilie Debra Ann, although Ottilie is after my Nan, DS is Miller Francis which is both mine and DH's Dads, so Debra and Ann are both after our Mums.

Just as a side note, I worked with an (awesome) Italian guy who said middle names are for royalty and so she literally sounds like a princess - which I think it incredibly cute.
