Please tell me what you think of these names!

Even though I am not pregnant yet, DH and I are planning to start trying for a baby soon and we are (informally) starting to talk about baby names.

While we both immediately agreed on a name for a potential DS (so that is sorted!), we have a never-ending list of names we like for a potential DD. So please, mumsnetters, tell me which ones of these names you like the best!

I would love to hear other people's point of view on this list of names we put together. Any comment is welcome! Many thanks!

I love Emma and Adele. Quite like Cora and Hazel

I like Mila, Adele, Hope and Cora. Also like Emma and Ella, but they're more popular.
The others are not my bag.

I like:
Mila
Harper (but it might be a bit trendy?)
Adele (would be worried that people will assume she's named after Adele though)
Mae (prefer May)
Cora

Don't like:
Rumi (too male poet)
Juno
Agness
Nami (love Naomi though)
Nala

If you were a friend of mine telling me your new baby girl name I would be genuinely 'oh that's lovely' at all of those excepting Gea - not sure how to pronounce it but any way I can come up with sounds weird to me. Gaia would be alright, if very hippy.

I like Juno, Agnes, Emma, Ella, Adele and Alma.

Love Juno, but wasn't quite brave enough to go for it myself

Don't like Nami or Mae.

My favourites are Alma and Hope.
I also really like Rumi, Hazel, and Emma.

The rest I don't really have any strong feelings about but Nala makes me think of the Lion King!

I like Emma, Ella, Juno and Hope. I also really like Harper but I think it has a different 'feel' from your other names.

So, so far the general consus leans towards Emma, Cora, Juno, Adele.

The boy name is Milo! Needless to say, we really like short names

OK: Mila, Hazel, Agnes (don't like the extra s though!), Ella, Mae, Alma

Don't like: Rumi, Juno, Gea (though for some reason I think it looks a lot prettier as Gia), Harper, Nami, June (only because of a very bad association though), Cora, Nala

emma Gea means "Earth" in ancient Greek. In English it would be pronounced as Gee-a.

I really like it because of its meaning!

I think that would normally be spelt Gaia, pronounced Guy-aah.

The only one I really don't like is Alma. Or Agness with 2s', Agnes is nice though.

The Ancient Greek name for the Mother Earth goddess is Gaia (Guy-aah) or Gaea (Gay-aah), not Gea.
The Ancient Greek for Earth is 'ge' (gay or geh). The name Ge or Gi was sometimes used as the name for the goddess, as well, but not Gea.

river oopps, I confused Italian and Greek.

Gea in Italian is a name that originates from the Greek γη - γης.

Gaia exists in Italian as well, but Gea is a more arcaic form I believe. The meaning is the same, similar to May/ Mae in English.

I also love Italian for Agness, which is Agnese. I think it is too hard to pronounce for English speakers though, so I am not sure I would use it.
