Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LokisUnderpants · 12/07/2016 18:41

Without being insulting it sounds a bit too like Turd for me. Sorry.

mouldycheesefan · 12/07/2016 18:41

I fear it becoming turd 💩

Paulat2112 · 12/07/2016 18:42

Another vote for turd here :(

nilbyname · 12/07/2016 18:42

Turd. Sorry, I really don't mean to be disrespectful about your grandad Flowers

Elllicam · 12/07/2016 18:43

Could you maybe make it Tor? Or did he have a middle name?

Sorry yes it just sounds like Turd.

What about Thor?

Betrayedbutsurvived · 12/07/2016 18:44

yup, he'll be turd throughout his entire school life I'm afraid.

NeedACleverNN · 12/07/2016 18:45

I've never heard that name before.

Are you in the UK? I can't see it going down very among his friends

Floggingmolly · 12/07/2016 18:45

Of course it's turd, it doesn't even have a capital letter to establish it as a name (at least it doesn't in your op)

EmpressOfTheVaginaDentata · 12/07/2016 18:45

I'm really sorry but I saw Turd at first too. Could you use Tord as a middle name?

SecretNutellaFix · 12/07/2016 18:45

Nope- he'll become Turd very quickly.

ccsays · 12/07/2016 18:45

Agree with the above, sorry Confused How about Torin?

OhTheRoses · 12/07/2016 18:45

What about Thorsten? No, I agree, you cannot call a child Tord in this country. His school days will be shit if you do.

MissBattleaxe · 12/07/2016 18:46

Yep, he'd be turd by the time he reaches reception age and for evermore after that.

FizzyFeet · 12/07/2016 18:47

How about Torsten or Todd? Or did your grandad have a middle name you could use instead?

FeckArseIndustries · 12/07/2016 18:51

It's lovely to honour your granddad but with your child's wellbeing in mind, perhaps a modified version:
Tor/Torr
Thor
Tod
Tom
Rod
Ruary (shorten to roar/roared?)
Lord (or maybe not)

Pigeon314 · 12/07/2016 18:52

No no no. It sounds like Turd. In fact, in a flat Dublin accent bird is pronounced bord. so.......... for me it'd be a no.

I like the suggestions of Todd or Torsten though!

Pigeon314 · 12/07/2016 18:53

" you cannot call a child Tord in this country. His school days will be shit if you do."

lol Grin

Queenbean · 12/07/2016 18:55

Really? Confused

Eeeek686 · 12/07/2016 18:59

Genuinely thought this was a joke thread (& my kids have got fairly 'out there' names) until I googled it. Definitely Not Tord - as everyone else has already said! - but Tor and Thor are both known derivatives so the sentiment would still be there?

GandalfsWrinklyHat · 12/07/2016 19:01

Torin?

LynneB59 · 12/07/2016 19:07

It's not a proper name, is it? Surely you can think of something better.....

Alisvolatpropiis · 12/07/2016 19:50

I'd put it in the middle name spot, personally.

mumto1babyboy · 12/07/2016 19:55

It's very much like turd :( xx
