What are people's thoughts on this name?

I really love it. Very cool and European.

ItchyFoot · 12/07/2016 11:25

I love it. Do hates it Sad

Sophronia · 12/07/2016 11:27

I like it. I also like the similar Anais and Annick

Alisvolatpropiis · 12/07/2016 11:35

Excellent!

I already have a daughter, whose name is much more popular in mainland Europe than in the UK (it's just outside the top 100 here, but in the top 20 in a few other countries) and was thinking that an equally European sort of name would be fitting for a future (currently hypothetical) sibling.

One thing though, I prefer the Dutch/German/Swedish/Spanish pronunciation of the name, rather than the French.

So ah-nook (as in nook in a house) rather than ah-nuke.

That would be fine, right?

CrystalMcPistol · 12/07/2016 12:12

Oh yes, definitely ah-nook.

MrsGsnow18 · 12/07/2016 12:58

I would def pronounce AH-nook when seeing it written down. I love it! Very unusual Star

EllenJanethickerknickers · 12/07/2016 19:11

I know a 40 yo Anouk. Ah nook. Great name, go for it.

tootiredforthissh1t · 12/07/2016 19:27

Is it a boys or girl name? I love it btw

IHeartKingThistle · 12/07/2016 19:28

I always thought it was a nickname for Anoushka, is it not? I like both btw?

Alisvolatpropiis · 12/07/2016 19:33

It's a diminutive of Anna apparently, so makes sense it is one of Anouska too!

I'm not so keen on Anouska. Though quite like that if I do go on to have another daughter and use Anouk, both my daughters will have names which are Russian diminutives, as well as being used as standalone names elswhere. Matchy...but in a niche way Grin

It's a cool name. I know a v cheeky 3 year old Anouk and her name really suits her

sycamore54321 · 16/07/2016 01:19

I like Anoush, a lovely Russian friend is called that. I don't like the "ook" sound of Anouk.

minatiae · 16/07/2016 01:37

love it

MoggieMaeEverso · 16/07/2016 01:48

I know a gorgeous little Anouk. Had never heard the name before, so I could be biased, but I really like it. It's easy to remember and say, it's uncommon without being outlandish, and it has a pleasant sound.

Rosaaa · 18/07/2016 18:01

I like it. I remember a singer with that name.

BoBo90 · 18/07/2016 19:14

A friend had a dog with this name so for me it's a no. I also think a lifetime of telling people how's it spelt/pronounced would be a pain in the bum! But if you love it go for it 🙂

NotYoda · 18/07/2016 19:21

Lovely
